so i have an appointment for a Sub clinic at 11 am this coming tuesday. they told me that i had to be going through withdrawals at the time for them to be able to dose me. so, i was just wondering, about how serious do the withdrawals have to be before they can dose me? can it just be like the early stages, or what? sorry if this is a stupid question or anything, i just don't want to go there and not be able to get dosed because i'm not sick enough. i know it probably just varies from doctor to doctor, but whats like the average? mild-moderate w/ds? severe w/ds? SWIM usually gets sick about 8-10 hours after last fix if that helps any...again, i apologize if this is stupid question to you guys, i've got a lil bit of opiates to hold me over until tuesday, i just don't want to fuck up and get high to soon before the appointment, yet i also don't want to be in agony for a lot longer than need be. thx in advance

Generaly they want you to be 24 hours min since your last dose. My friend who just started was suposed to be 36 hours..it really depends on the clinc. You could call them and ask them how long ago your last dose has to be citing that you don't want to precipitate WD's.
Also check out the Ultimate Sub guide stickied here. A good read if your new to subs. Best of luck.

The longer you hold out the better the subs will feel, but you dont have to be in a ton of agony before you take them, they just wont feel as nice....I've personally tested taking them with only the slightest physical and some mental WD, but they didnt feel as good, and you dont wanna risk precipated WD. But no you dont have to be reeling before you take them, jhust make sure you are at least very uncomfortable mentally and physically and you'll be ok.

You know what the only thing i can not understand about suboxone, is what do you do if you happen to break your leg or get in any type of situation where you would need any type of pain relief. I heard that if you take any type of opiod/opiate you will go into withdrawal immediately. Is this true??????????

You can take opiates while on subs just not the other way around. You'll need a mega dose though because subs will block the opiates, somewhat. The subs themselves should provide some pain relief, I dont know how much though, probably not alot.

yes that is true. wed i got 2mg of dialudid iv at the er due to a kidney stone. it barely broke throu. i was wondering if they can narcan you and get the bupe off ur receptors and then that forcefeild will be gone and u can take opiates without not feeling them or wasting them.
if your really genuinely sick than answe yes to all of their questions (or at least tell them what they want to hear) because sometimes youll get someone taking thier job a little too seriously ( maybe i said that wrong thats a job youve gotta take seriously) but youll get someone on a power trip and theyll amke you wait even though yopur crying and rippig your hair out just because your answers didnt add up to give you a high enough rating on their scale. again im saying this assuming that you are genuinely sick as fuck already

Absolutely not. It doesn't work like that.
As for taking Subs for the first time, you want to be as sick as you can possibly stand it, to avoid precipitated WD. I've experienced precip WD twice, both times I thought I was sick enough but wasn't. It was 2 of the worst experiences of my life; truly horrible and much worse than normal withdrawal. It's like a heroin rush in reverse.
sitar, a quick question for you or anyone else i guess, what is precipitated withdrawl, do you feel like shit while your on the bupe or does it just come on real hard when they take you off of it? i assumed the nurse was just being shitty towards me because i thought my withdrawal was overwhelming, but i was only like a day and a half into it, maybe she was actually helping out, though the doctor that came in the next morning was really suprised that they hadnt let me have it and gave it to me immediately

oh yea, i totally forgot i made this thread...well, anyway, all went well at the appointment and so far i am liking the subs. i haven't touched any kind of drug (not even mary jane, btw) since i've started the subs. so for right now, everything is going smoothly. i'm doing a sub maintenance so i haven't started tapering or anything. but anyway, i just now remembered about this thread so thats why i never responded....to be honest, i am very surprised its only like half-way down the first page
