Is there any concern with putting a fentanyl patch on the bottom of your arm, just below the wrist, about where your slice them to commit suicide?

I suppose it'd absorb into the veins quicker, and not build up so much in the skin.

I'm putting the patch on for a few days while I"m switching over from methadone to buprenorphine so I don't instant withdrawal.

I worry that the fentanyl patch, when I take it off, will have left enough fentanyl in my body, that by the time I'm in withdrawal after taking it off 3 days later, I'll still get precipitated withdrawals.

i'd sure hate that.

Just make sure you get the patch off atleast 12 hours in advance, 18 would probably be better. Fent has a pretty short half life but w/ chronic administration (even small dose constant for a few days) it can build up pretty good. Maybe take it off the night before if your apointments at noon or so the next day. As far as the wrist it might absorb a little better but I don't think it's going to effect the length of time it stays in your system, just how well it absorbs. Maybe take it off on day two and use it another way, such as smoking it so you know more of how much is in your system, though it might be harder to judge the smoked dose after wearing it...
