I have a question for all those opiophiles out there who have body modifications (ie piercings, tattoos, scarifications, etc):

I know that such experiences of pain, like tattoos or piercings, create an endorphin rush, but does using opiates cause this to stop? I have personally experienced the euphoria during/after piercings and tattoos, but have had none done since using daily, and was wondering about other's experiences with this. I am planning on getting some more tattoos, and hope that the pleasurable part isn't denied me...

I recently got a tattoo while I was high on oxy.

I didn't get super excited before, during or after, but I did feel some pain. so I guess there weren't any endorphins.

Sorry; I've only ever felt pain - before my opi use, durrning, and after. Never got a runners high niether.
Tripped pretty hard driving after being awake too long. But can't help you w/ the e'phin rush. Wait I think I've felt it w/ burns.....

I would say if you are using or just stopped the chances of the rush go way down.

That's what I figured, I was just wondering what other people may have experienced regarding it.

I felt the rush, and I felt the hypnotic state. The supposed pain simply wasn't there, though.

I definitely got a rush during my last tat. It was a backpiece tat and I actually fell asleep during it, but looking back, I don't know if it was getting inked or being on fentanyl that made me nod in and out. I also went and had my hood pierced and my nose re-pierced while on a massive amount of some kind of opiates, but I can't remember what, but I definitely felt the nose and didn't really feel the hood. Piercings don't hold as much of a thrill for me anymore, but getting inked still seems captivate my attention for some reason. I dunno, maybe its the mechanical *whirrrrrrrrrrr* of the needle and the feel of a needle on my body that I like so much...I'm really not sure.

I've never understood why people say the feeling of a tattoo gun is in any way pleasurable. . .
Having about 25% of my body covered right now I don't think I've ever said to myself "Damn this feels awesome!" but to each their own I guess.

Usually SWIM's routine is at least a 40 OC directly before the work and maybe some c if he's in the mood. . . This is of course along with whatever else he took that day. (Which is probably a whole list of crap most times) It seems to make the pain more bearable at least. Don't know how it'll effect the "pleasure" you're talking about though.

Before you call me a pussy..... get your ribs under your arms and your feet tattooed-it'll give you whole new outlook on that tattoo gun haha.
