live on Fox News right now, coroner confirms that she didn't overdose.. She'd taken Chloral Hydrate, anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medication, Human Growth Horomone, B12 IM in the ass.
I can't remember all the shit she was say to be on. I wish I had her luck. Choral Hydrate, Anti-Anxiety drugs (I assume benzos) and Methadone? Shit, I'm surprised she could move... ever.
Klonipin, Ativan, Valium, (All at once?) and Benadryl.... heavy doses of Chloral Hydrate metabolites.
Chloral Hydrate and it's metabolites, along with the benzos were the cause of death
EDIT: apparently she also had an abscess in her ass that was opened when she injected, and caused sepsis, but that was cured by antibiotics.
Sorry, mods, this is a long conversation, and now the guy says Methadone wasn't the cause of death, and instead it was administered 3 days or so prior.

What really amazes me is that we, as americans, feel we have some innate RIGHT to know her PERSONAL LIFE STORY. It's fucked up. If this was some Joe Blow we wouldn't have access to this information on grounds that it's SOMEONE'S PRIVATE LIFE and their PRIVACY SHOULD BE RESPECTED. I mean what the fuck?!? Why do we "need to know" how the bitch died? I don't care if the hoe was the fuckin' pope- we should not feel entitled to this bitch's life story and how she wipes her ass crack. Why? It ISN'T OUR FUCKING BUSINESS! FURTHERMORE (you got me on a rant) what the FUCK ?!??! We pass this shit off as NEWS?!?!? MEANWHILE REAL news stories go ignored because we feel it's SO FUCKING IMPORTANT to know weather or not she od'd or what the fuck she had for breakfast. IT'S BULLSHIT! Wake up, people! DEMAND REAL NEWS!! This isn't news, this is fucking paparatzi bullshit and we shouldn't fucking stand for it. If this was a story about your mother, you wouldn't stand for it. So just cuz' its some celeb, why should things be ANY FUCKING DIFFERENT? That's my .02c, but i think I make a VERY valid point!

Truly, I can not think of anything that interests me less than what is going on in the public or private lives of celebrities of any kind- be they rock stars, movie stars, politicians, or gold-digging nudie models.
I just frankly don't give a flying fuck. . .

oh how interesting - she died of all legal prescription drugs. so no drugs are safe they all kill people. recreational and illegal drugs are the only bad ones???
What if she died from heroin overdose. Everyone would freak out and talk about the evils of heroin the immoral drug spreading like a plague.

Im closing this thread. I did what I said; checked my homework and all that. GOD DAMN this bitch is in the news.
OK so the bottom line:
the bitch is dead
everyone knows
no one cares.
If someone has something OTHER than this to add, PM me i'll reopen this thread. Otherwise, this is pointless.

One last thing.
Is it just me, or did everyone else here notice what was on that list? I'm talking about the benadryl and soma. Let's say you see these 2 drugs being taken by someone who's also on methadone. Let's also say this is someone from this site. What's the first thing you think when you hear "benadryl" and "soma"?
Potentiators.

I will tell you why this is a "big deal" to the media. Because the American public does care about it, or at least a majority does. Enough to make it profitable, which is what turns the media wheel of information. Why do you think that The Today Show or GMA talks about Britney Spears going into rehab and shaving her head? Or why does Access Hollywood talk about Brangelina (jeez, that's so stupid) adopting another child?
Why? Because, like it or not, we are a nation of voyeurs. We love to watch. It used to just be celebrities, but that's not the case anymore. The last ten years have seen a profulgation of reality TV shows like Survivor and The Real World and The Apprentice. Hell, even the world of adult cinema has a reality show (Who Wants to be a Porn Star?). We love to take pleasure in the tragedies and pain of others, as long as we can watch from a safe distance.
While Anna's death is the extreme, we have delighted in her tragedy of a life since she married J. Howard Marshall. We laughed at her white trash upbringing, the fact she was a stripper. Recently, from the death of her kid to her death, we watched. Do you think for a minute that these tabloid and mainstream news shows would report on a C-list celebrity like Anna Nicole Smith's death if people didn't care? Absolutely not!
Television networks do not usually air (at least for long) programs that no one watches. Low ratings equal cancellation. Sad as it may be, television news is the same these days. Twenty-five years ago, do you think that someone like Britney Spears' rehab stint would be on nightly news? Doubtful. And the deaths of Elvis Presley (1977) and John Lennon (1980) don't count. They were true icons of pop-culture and had more to offer the world of music and entertainment than breasts. They were famous because they had talent. Britney and her pals like Paris and Li-Loh are famous for being famous.
On the flip side of this rant, however, is the dirty little secret that these celebrities don't want you to know. They play like they hate to be in the middle of the media feeding frenzy. Nothing could be further from the truth. If this were true, Britney and Paris wouldn't go out to nightclubs without panties unless they wanted publicity. Publicity, good or bad, puts money in their wallets. Strike what I said earlier: Britney and Paris and Li-Loh and even Anna Nicole are famous for being infamous. There truly is no such thing as bad publicity. In this day and age, even if the coverage is negative, at least they're still talking about you.
Publicity is a drug to these people. Hell, it's a drug to Americans, even the most average citizen. How else do you explain people with no talent getting on American Idol? They want to be on TV, even if it means they are ridiculed. Anna Nicole Smith is a sad tragedy in a country where the desire to be famous and mediocre is greater than the desire to be successful in anonymity. Let's face it, the people I have mentioned in this essay don't really bring anything to the world of entertainment, other than a pretty face (even that's debatable with Paris and Britney) and scandal.
Andy Warhol didn't know how right he was.

Anna Nicole didn't have Soma in her blood. I got the list from the Coroner's office:
Trichloroethanol · Trichloroacetic acid
· Diphenhydramine hydrochloride
· Clonazepam
· Diazepam
· Nordiazapam
· Temazepam
· Oxazepam
· Lorazapam
Methadone was found in the Bile, but not the blood, so according to the Coroner, it hadn't been administered in the previous 2 days, but probably on the third.
When I look at all these other drugs, it looks like she was way overdosing on the benzos- but that obviously wasn't the case. Most of these are metabolites. Diazepam breaks down into NorDiazepam and Oxazepam, and I'm pretty sure Alprazolam breaks down into a conjugate, and Temazepam, and I'm not sure about Lorazepam's Metabolic pathway. '
However, this isn't a complete list. I know she was also currently taking Human Growth Hormone.
I looked online and there were a couple lists of drugs she had been prescribed- one website that included soma- but they're innacurate according to the coroner's report.
-------------------------------
I don't know why anyone cares about her. I don't personally, but I started this thread because I was strangely glued to the tube during the coroner's presentation- not because I care about ANS, I don't really- i know nothing about her- but the way people are reacting to the whole thing is really interesting. I was also interested in hearing about the whole autopsy stuff, especially while I watch all of "Six Feet Under" (just getting into it)

Hahaha, the truth cuts like a knife. Look GF, and anyone else wondering "why on earth the press won't leave her alone" it's because she actively persued all the attention... no one forced her into being a celebrity and alot of those asshole's that get caught up in all that bullshit do so solely for that attention. It's called being an attention whore and I feel little pity for any of them, dead or alive, when they get drug through the mud because they went looking for it, they knew what they were signing up for. I understand that people could say the same thing about me/us and drug use but I shoot dope on my own and don't look for pat's on the back from the press, she did and when you do that yeah, you sign over your privacy rights. That's what she wanted in the first place (being an attention whore); I bet she's getting off on all the press about her stupid little fuck up right now so watching people argue for her "privacy rights" really rubs me the wrong way. I am more pissed off that her irresponsibility only add's to the heap of anti-drug propaganda (which her slurring and staggering ways didn't help when she was still breathing)... the fires big enough already, we don't need to add more fuel.

Hey, I don't disagree that she wanted attention and I certainly doubt she is getting off on any of this, seeing how she is dead!
In my own opinion I feel she caused alot of her own grieve, whether do to her drug use or not. But, I also think many of the people around her took advantage of her and may not have always steered her in the right direction or helped her in making the most of wise decisions.
And yeah, the media loves this kind of shit and people all over are tuning in day after day to see what happens next.
I just cannot help but feel the way I do. She was a human being, just like you and me and we all make stupid choices and do dumb things. She unfortunately made the mistake of letting her life become a media circus.
You stated your opinion, I am sharing mine.
Did she deserve to die? Just sounds like an awful thing to say,IMO! But it doesn't make me right or you wrong. Just two different ways at looking at life I guess.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, hun... I never said she deserved to die. Not even close. I'm not even saying that she deserved the treatment that the media gave her, just saying that she sought it out and people that do that love media attention, be it good or bad. There is no bad publicity for these people. It may have been what destroyed her, yes. But I, believing in an afterlife, still think she's sitting off somewhere right now getting off on all this attention. As I said she was an attention whore and those types of people get off on attention, no publicity is bad publicity... people are talking about you - you must be so special. And she is, even after death, and I think that was what she was seeking to accomplish.
I'm not trying to come off as sounding harsh either, just laying it down like I see it... doesn't mean I don't feel bad about the state of affairs that she, the media, us are in, believe me I do. Just like I feel bad for drug addicts who bring most of their problems on themselves, but I still realize that they (me) brought it upon themselves knowing full well what the consequences are. Look at how you reamed me out good just the other day for bitching about not being able to get the healthcare I needed and you took the stance that it was MY DRINKING AND DRIVING that fucked me up in the first place (and you where right) doesn't change the fact that I deserve medical attention. I think that parrallels this justly. I feel bad for anyone in a shitty circumstance, regardless if self imposed or not, but I don't let it cloud my vision.

I don't believe anyone said she deserved to die, I believe it was glad she is dead! Regardless, I', not criticizing anyone. My first response was at a moment where I guess I was feeling a bit sentimental. Didn't mean to sound judgemental or point fingers at anyone. She was definately a pretty fucked up lady and had her share of shit to deal with at the end there of her life.

That's something I think we all can agree on.
Thought just popped into my head a second ago: Americans (as a whole) are pretty stupid in believing what they are told, an OD for miss Anna seem's like the perfect way out of the spotlight. Kinda like a witness protection program. Maybe she got in way over her little attention whore head and played the PR game to her advantage. Wouldn't it be fucked up if she was alive in some remote place under a different alias reading (and getting off on) this thread. Ha, I love it... it'd be the perfect ending.

Television will rot your mind faster than dope, that's my stance. As a rule I don't watch anything other than the National Geographic and Discovery Channel, and I still take alot of what's said on there with a grain of salt. Our history books are just about as fucked too. But hey we're not as bad off as North Korea; then again it's more fun watching a democracy of free speech slowly eat it's own tail than to marvel at total dictatorship. But yes, Americans that watch TV or read the news and actually think they're getting informed rather than just being anestesized on the gas that comes out of the media's ass are rather ignorant, in my opinion.

yea, talk about beating this news story to death. Agreed.
I just found out of another story that broke around the same time (that astronaut that wore a space-diaper as she drove to attempt a kidnapping) that got completely pushed to the side. If it weren't for Anna Nichole, this story probably would have been beaten to death.

Right, rather than this story,it might be healthier to think about;Afghanistan,Iraq,Iran(coming soon) or even the psychotic lady astronaut.

My mother is a big fan of Access Hollywood and Extra (I can't stand it) and get's People magazine, and if I remember correctly, there were nine drugs:
Valium
Klonopin
Ativan (injectable)
Chloryl Hydrate (given to her for sleep)
Diphenhydramine (Benadryl)
Topomax (for weight loss apparently, although it's a neuroleptic also used as a mood stabilizer)
Guaifenisen (an expectorant in OTC cough syrups)
I don't remember the other two, but I do know that they reported that she DID NOT have methadone in her system. They said she had been prescribed done for "back pain," but that it wasn't in her system. It was basically an OD on the chloryl hydrate in combination with the other drugs. It said the recommended dose was 1-2 teaspoons, and she was taking around 2 tablespoons, sometimes sipping it from the bottle. I'd say it was probably the combo of the chloryl hydrate and the benzos that killed her.
TokinDerrick
04-08-2007, 12:05 PM
well, it was in her system, just didn't contribute to the OD. last time she took methadone was 3 days before her death I read.
the other things I read which may or may not be true was that she was also scripted vicodin, and dilaudid.
