Vegemite is an Australian icon. Are you serious? We've had urban myths for years about some people shooting the stuff. I'd try anthing once; you may not get any more stoned but you will reach your Vitamin B daily dietary requirements.
BTW, the stuff tastes strong and very savioury...

Found this on Bluelight, on a page talking about cytochrome P450-2D6 inhibitors - don't know if it's relevant:-
MAOIs
DXM + an MAOI is a dangerous combination; Robitussin DM is not okay, probably not even in normal doses. for a while, i took Manerix (moclobemide), which is a reversible MAOI, and was expressly warned never to mix it with cough medicines containing DXM. even though the dietary limitations for tyramine intake (like, no tomatoes, no cheese) don't apply to reversible MAOIs, there are still a few restrictions: no more than 300 g of aged cheese or 1000 g of any cheese, and no products derived from yeast, like Marmite and Vegemite. you also cannot mix them with DXM.
to many people, this may be irrelevant, because there are no reversible MAOIs approved for use in the US.

To be honest, I don't know what that's saying. It's just interesting that yeast products are mentioned at all, and it may well support what you were noticing.
Over to the chemists on this one!

It's an Australian equivalent to Marmite. A vegetable yeast extract good for stews, toast or hot drinks.

Oh my god Veggimite is the most vile shit this side of black tar. My pop's was Australian, so you would think I might have a taste for this stuff. But no, the opinion of anyone I've ever known to try it and my own: disgusting.
Now, if it is truely a potentiator, I might have to learn to love it..
in wall street news,
company Kraf# the maker of vegimeite, stocks have risen 300%, the company has said it to be worth 26 billion dollars, the recent reports of vegiemite making opiods stronger has created a boom in the market :p

Well it doesn't taste one tenth as bad as poppy tea, and most of us here are prepared to put ourselves through that particular torture...
Actually, to me Veggie just tastes like a poor, cruder version of Marmite. It's not particularly nice, I must say. :(

Here's an interesting thought experiment. Suppose somebody gave you two bottles, one with 80mg oxycodone pills, and the other with 85mg oxycodone pills. The pills looked absolutely identical but one contains that extra 5mg. With enough experimentation, would you be able to tell which bottle had the extra 5mg's in each pill? You can eat them, snort them, shoot them, brown them, whatever you want, could you ever figure out which pills have the extra kick? Frankly I don't think anybody here would be able to figure it out conclusively. I know I wouldn't be able to tell at all. There are so many factors that influence how well we "get off" on opiates that making mental comparisons from one pill to the next just doesn't work.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, that when somebody says that "such-and-such is a potentiator" I really don't place much stock in it, unless it's backed up by some experimental data. When somebody says they get off 5% more or 10% more with some potentiator, I just can't buy it. Who the hell is actually aware of a 5-10% difference anyhow? My brain is not a very accurate sensory device and if you think yours is, I think you're just fooling yourself.
Sorry to be a wet-blanket but I guess I'm a natural-born skeptic! Now if you excuse me I am going to put mayonnaise in my hair while singing The Star Spangled Banner, because I read somewhere that it makes my O.C. 5% stronger.

Well thats an excellent and interesting insight Woowoo! Great way to put it. The only response to I have to that, is that potentiators might have much to do with the placebo effect for some if not most people. So hey, if it works for them, then I guess it works for them ya know.
