I am cross posting, but take a look at the cause of nigella sativa seed oils effects on opioid receptors.
the oil has been used as a relaxant. the antitussive effects were compared to codeine and were percieved to be similiar in strength. naloxone antagonised the effects....but it gets better.......selective mu and kappa antagonists also seemed to lessen its effects.
I need to read the articles over again to remember if it is an alkaloid responsible or some other compound.
this seed oil might be a great additive to some poppy seed tea. it also might be an excellent massage oil.

I just got this oil in and am trying it on so to speak. it certianly doesnt taste too bad. I am getting a little bit itchy an hour after taking it, but I will need multiple doses to really get the know this plant. I am also maintaining on kratom and occasional tramadol for pain. I havent gotten itchy for a few weeks now that the poppy seeds in this town have gone "flat".
this oil has topical applications as well, I am working on a blend of oils and herbs to mix with this nigella oil for an ointment/salve.

I HIGHLY doubt that it could, although the purported active compound is avialable from a german chemical supplier for about 500$ per gram, seeing as how the effect is purported to be around the potency of codeine I am sure that it would be a waste...........
I ended up taking 3 tablesppons of the oil last night. I definitely felt a change, but it was mellow, it increased sedation and had a sorta flat feeling to it, by that I mean I felt really good physically, but mentally felt sort of dull. I think this oil has potential as a topical pain reliever and as a potentiator for opioids or maybe something that would reduce withdrawls a bit maybe...............
