Im too sick too get to my USP right now, so hopefully someone with pharmacological knowledge can help.
Im w/ding, and have not recieved the clonidine I ordered, so I am looking for alternative agents to lower hypertension.
I have questions for four substances I have on hand.
1) diphenhydramine/dimenhydrinate/promethazine. I know antihistamines have anticholinergic properties, and I was wandering if they either lower blood pressure (preffered), or raise it.
2) cyclobenzaprine. tricyclic-esque. I assume it lowers BP, as it is a CNS depresent, but I am not sure.
3) buspirone. an anxiolytic, but different from benzos. dont know much about this one
4) melatonin. any positive effects for w/d's
Sorry if any of this has been discussed. I searched here, and med web sites, and cant find any concrete info. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED
Sorry, didnt mean to yell

Stick with the Promethazine or Benadryl. Flexeril can actually raise your BP becuase it is Tri-cyclic like, tricylcics are know for raising BP. BusPar is more related to SSRI's than to being a true anxiolytic like benzo's so I waould saty away from that too because SSRI also raise BP in some people.

Get your hands on any sedative you can, benedryl is a rather weak sedative but its a sedative nonetheless!.

Thanks for the info. I asked a doctor about the cyclobenzeprine recently, and said it would work well for blood pressure, so I believed him. At the same time, he tried to tell me Flexeril relaxes muscles, and is nothing at all like a gen. 2 antidepressent. Shows, once again, that doctors really dont know shit when it comes to pharmaceuticals. So, thanks again Roxi.
I used a promethazine/melatonin combo, and it worked pretty well. Not the way clonidine does, but at least I slept.

one time I had a small case of Hypertension and to alleviate it I used a super-natural cure. I carried a stone in my pocket called Prehnite, it's this super ball looking crystal that was formed by gas bubbles through it's mother stone, Epidote. They come from a few different places but you can find one in the Congo. I have a couple for sale but they are pretty spendy. It worked for me

hippie.
i got the hypertension from drinking toooo much whiskey and then ingesting massive amounts of speed, wine, mdma, H, and cocaine. I guess that does kinda make me a hippie.

Is it some kind of psychosomatic, mind-over-matter treatment?

i dont know what it is, I know it worked. I carried the stone with me for about 4 hours and then I read about it after it worked

Rocks eminate energy.
I'm not sure if "eminate" is spelled correctly - I mean, they put out energy. Conduct it. Some people feel or believe the energy affects them in certain ways. No one knows whether it's true or not, because no one knows whether it's true or not. Maybe it's true for some people, not for others. Who knows why. I don't know why. It's probably true. Seems logical. Everything has an energy, even styrofoam.
I'm a hippie. I got born that way. I knew a lady once who held five little rocks in her mouth - she sucked on them becausae she felt they gave her a certain energy she wanted. It was kind of weird to try and have a conversation with her. It seemed she had more of a relationship with those rocks than with anything else. I suspect that in her previous life, she was some sort of rock.

I am assuming you get high blood pressure when in w/d , which is opposite of what happens to me and most others in w/d, isn't it? Sorry if I am getting off track here...
Last week I tried to stop, and at 20hrs I was looking in a mirror when I got a sudden massive "neck-headache" and heard some buzzing in my ears and my pupils got hugely wide and then I crumbled to the floor.
They said that was low blood pressure.
I never did recover in the next 3 hrs until finally I took a shot of morph.
Good luck to you

Who told you it was high blood pressure.? Generally those signs you had are a sign of high blood pressure!
