For those of you without plans this coming Friday (or if you have a DVR box and can record), set your TV's to the A&E channel. They will be airing an brand new episode of Intervention for a Male in his twenties that shoots Oxy 15x / day. It's about his life as an Opiate addict. Here's the details:

From the outside, Ryan and his family look picture perfect. They live in a beautiful house in an upscale northern California neighborhood. But inside, their world is falling apart. Ryan, once a talented drummer who was awarded a music scholarship to the state university, is addicted to opiates. He injects OxyContin up to 15 times a day. His moods swing wildly from needy to hostile, and his family no longer knows how to deal with him or help him. They're only hope is an intervention.

I absolutely HATE it when they have someone on the show that's not a drug addict, like some dipshit with an eating disorder or a gambler. Those are not addictions!

Yes, they are harmful things that require treatment, but they're not true addictions. You're not going to go into withdrawal if you eat some damn food or quit gambling! Those are always the most boring segments of that show (with the one exception of this really whiney guy that bilked his parents out of tons of money to support his gambling; he was just a freak).

I also love that show...it's amazing what those drugs really do to people. As an addict myself I have some weird fascination watching others struggle w/ their addictions. The one weird thing is how we (addicts) are so good at detecting dishonesty and bs from other people, but when we're in our active addiction can't see it in ourselves. The show is very entertaining and "sobering" to watch. I'll definitely be recording the new one.

Did anyone see the one when the girl who was addicted to meth (not done, speed) ran around her trashed house naked and thought she was a god and wrote a book about mathematical formulas that didn't make any sense? Reminds me when I used to snort a bunch of adderall for days straight and tried to do my calculus homework...crazy what drugs do to ya...crazy.

Sorry to hear. Dish Network is offering free 4 room installation, free equipment, and a free dvr right now. I hate cable so we have had Dish for a few years now and I have no complaints. Chuckie was a nutjob...wasn't he the son of the "three dog night" guy? He had a terrible tar addiction...but anyway, I saw advertisements about the one on this Fri about the dude w an IV Oxy habit. I'll give it a shot--I see some people here don't really dig the show, but I watch it when I can, and think they're doing a good thing. God's work, if you will? yeah that was a sad story, dude. His girl really wanted him to get better cause of their baby and all that---> I felt for the man, ya know? I understand he got himself addicted and all that; of course he is responsible for his own actions as a grown man, but it was still a tough break---for him, his girl, and *especially* their little baby. I haven't seen a follow-up on him yet. (you know how a month or so after a show airs, sometimes they re visit the person to see how they are doing?) I hope he's doin ok, though. You bring up a good point about his mother, though. I watched the show and was a little shocked to see her actually not only giving him money she knew was for dope, but actually driving him to Skid Row to cop the dope, and if that's not bad enough----> she let him "fix" in her goddamned car!!
Crazy shit, bro

and she is a addiction specialist thats what her job is, fark nice to know what they are thinking, but at the same token,
when i lived with my parents they new I smoked pot, and it was bad like chukie, like I stole money and shit, no matter how many times my mum kept taking me back, one time I lived with a big dealer I thought it was cool, good deals dope was in abundance, didnt talk to my mum for 3 months, then one night I called her and a week later i was moved back in to my mums and living again, so its a very typical thing for the mother to do that, like my mum wouldnt let me fix "if i did that" but she would drive me to get my pot, lend me money the same sorta thing, I guess that is as true as love gets, you cant get that from any girlfriend, the bond with mother and son is extremely strong, a mother would die trying to protect their son ? wouldnt she

Oh yes you can. I've had co-dependent girlfriends do that for me. They want to make you happy so badly and don't want you to leave them so they will enable the shit out of you, even at such a cost to the overall relationship and your health. People can be really fucked up when they think they need something. You can be addicted to drugs and the girl can be addicted to you.

You wonder how he pulls that off??? dude hes in LA prison, those places are basically run by the MS 13, 18th street hispanic gangs, and the black blood and crip gangs. those jails have just as much dope as there is on the streets and even moe violence. Its so incredibly easy todo drugs in jail, especially if your locked up in LA county.

RunForTheRoses
03-16-2007, 03:42 PM
So true, how come the correctional institutions in CT where I did time are SO strict! Damn, we got away with a bit of stuff (got high on dope twice, my urine got pulled twice), but it does make prison such less punishment when you can do EXACTLY what you want to do. Especially if you're like Chucky and probably have people sending you tons of commissary dough, which can easily be turned into sort of cash for other things or just trade up with! Damn, you Californians have it easy however you crack it!

Well except for the whole Earthquake thing.

No shit. These counselors in that show are fucking morons that should be beaten half to death for some of the stupid decisions they make that screw with other people's lives.

Many of the dope addicts on the show are hopeless cases that should probably be on Methadone for a while instead of thrown into detox right away. The show's counselors are total morons. They don't even weigh the possible benefits or risks of any of the other treatments out there, they just want them thrown into detox and that's it. Idiots.

dude they do go on methodone ect ect, I just watched one where he had his own nurse fly with him to keep him comfortable for the whole 45 days he was in maintainence

I think the ultimatums that they give them are good, its a quick swift wake up look what you are loosing
do you wana be dead and loose them, or do u wana not get help and loose them, really people at that point in their addictions are at rock bottom and cant even help themselves, I was like that once with pot and speed, and that gave me a good wake up call

It was about a winey, wimpy little skinny ass white boy who is spoiled rotten. This kid was bad because he sucked off his parents like a lazy leach. There was one great scene where he got together with all his friends and shot up together. One girl has blood dripping down her arm and that’s that. Another freak used a blood pressure tester for a turnakit.

If his P’s kicked his ass on the street he would see realty pretty fast. If you pay like I then you deal with it If you don't then you get sick. We figure it otu pretty fast. I hate it when the addict is totally supported by someone else.

Am I wrong?

I loved this one, it might be my all time favorite. Not because of the kid (maybe partly), but mostly because it was so entertaining. He was WAY spoiled -- no doubt. That kid had everything a kid like him could want; a free education, southern cali weather and atmosphere and a rich family! His dad was a loser more then he ways -- that's for sure!

I don't understand why he didn't upgrade to H... he didn't have the money for his habit anymore and he was waisting A LOT of $$$ for a smaller high. It's not like he was poppin them or snortin them either. He was shooting like 10x a day or something. I almost think H might have been healthier with fewer fillers and garbage -- eeks! Sometimes he would shot two or three times in a row... half a shot of H would have probably left him good. Oh well -- too late now. I don't want to ruin the ending so I'll stop now!!!

This was a cool episode, I am sure most Opio's would love it! I will watch out for a torrent link to post in the next day or so for those who saw too late or weren't able to catch it.

My friend/dealer is locked up and her friend/my new dealer, brings this girl xanies and other types of benzos (she wasn't an oc user, just xanies and wet) but it's possible you just have to be so carefull and slick/experienced with the process or you're screwed.

I hear ya Roxi cable got so damn expensive here & for shit really. Now I jsut got dish & even got the 2nd DVR for free & a third receiver free (single non DVR but STILL!) so we have 5 tvs' hooked up & just one enslaved but hey with 3 kids no no one can bitch they do'nt have it LOL & 6tvs everyone can watch what they want. the kicker is right now I am paying $5more a month for the whoe premium pack 25o channels (had like what 50 tops on cable?) plus free cinemax for 6 mos. I am sure I"ll drop that though & Possibly downgrade to 200 or 100 which would HALF my cable bill & STILL have more channels. comcast sucks. Im digging my dish though it's barely a week old so still learning my way around with it. I am pissed I did'nt record that show either I love A&E one of my fav channels & can't believe i missed it (thought it was on Sundays) maybe I can catch the rerun.

sorry to go so far OT. but man with kids *and a little noisy 5yr old always interrupting* that pause button thing ROCKS!!!lol

and that kid was a total effing bitch ass little punk. though i can certainly understand why his mother was willing to help him get high. no one wants to watch someone you love suffer through the sickness even if said someone is a little bitch. the whole family seemed kinda ignorant anyways when it came to dealing with an addict. which was odd considering that the dad was an alchie. but i guess it's true that ignorance can be blissful huh

Yes, they are harmful things that require treatment, but they're not true addictions. You're not going to go into withdrawal if you eat some damn food or quit gambling!

Correction - gambling is very much a dangerous addiction (I have treated myself for it by chipping - don't laugh, it's true) and can ultimately lead to suicide.

and that kid was a total effing bitch ass little punk. though i can certainly understand why his mother was willing to help him get high. no one wants to watch someone you love suffer through the sickness even if said someone is a little bitch. the whole family seemed kinda ignorant anyways when it came to dealing with an addict. which was odd considering that the dad was an alchie. but i guess it's true that ignorance can be blissful huh
No wonder you only have to pay $8 for those, Tevas suck.

thats what I was about to say too, I left it out of my post.

luckily that dude I said that only could get tevas came through with an ABG 80 today, and some xanax bars, I bought two of those with it, I started with one, and the 80, and went with that for a while, but then I popped the other xanny and then I don't remember the rest. heh.

I watched one the other day with a very decent looking girl who was a heroin addict, and she was standing up in the bathroom and shot up, and then she was talking and nodding, and the next camera view it showed was her standing up with her face planted on the bathroom mirror and fog from her breath. I'd love to have a nod like that, I haven't nodded in abut a month. only been using baout once every 2 weeks. :(

One girl has blood dripping down her arm and that’s that. Another freak used a blood pressure tester for a turnakit.

Fuck, why haven't I thought of that. I have one. Makes tying so much easier, when it releases pressure automatically! (electronic)
