I cannot locate the previous post about pepper jack cheese making hydro more potent, but it did in fact work for me! I actually attempted just plain full fat American cheese, as I don't like peppers much. However, it did nothing. I then bought some pepper jack cheese and ate a few good bites just after my pills and finally they worked. Not only that, but once I took the pills and felt nothing and hadn't eaten all day. I then ate some of the pepper jack cheese, two hours after the pills, and within 30 minutes they kicked in!
I know the explanation was something about the fat, but I think there may be more to it. This is due to the fact that no other high fatty foods, even in the same quantity, worked at all like the pj.
Just thought someone else might wanna try it to see if it's just me and the other poster (cannot find the post and searched many times).

Pepper is meant to contain something active, but I can't remember what.

Pepper is meant to contain something active, but I can't remember what. It's called capsaicin and it's a very interesting an complicated molecule. The burning sensation that it produces it done by getting your nerves to falsely trigger (it's not actually an "acid burn" as some people may think). Birds on the other hand have nerves that trigger differently and they can eat the hottest peppers without breaking a sweat.
From wikipedia the page on capsaicin reads:
Capsaicin "high"
The "capsaicin high" is a euphoric sensation caused by the consumption of large quantities of capsaicin from capsaicin-laden foods. It is theorized that the pain induced by capsaicin causes the human body to release endorphins. Eventually, enough are released to create a sensation that is frequently compared to "runner's high".

Totally agree with these two posters, it's the peppers. I love hot food, I feel good when I eat it. Has something to do with endorphines, I read somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

OMG! I was just crusing the net and found this brain-dead idea to insert capsaicin into our pharmacuticals to make them abuse proof!! OMG!! Are these people idiots? Check it out
Using chili peppers to burn drug abusers
Recently, the Richard J. Kitz Professor of Anesthesia Research at Harvard Medical School hit on the idea of using the same irritating chemical to "burn" people who illegally use pain medications. When an abuser of a medication like OxyContin snorts, chews, or injects the drug, he or she would get intense hot pain instead of an expected happy high. A patient taking the same capsaicin-laced pill could get needed relief and avoid unpleasant sensations simply by swallowing the pills whole, as directed.
Those who obtain opium-based drugs, including morphine and methadone, by theft or subterfuge usually crush the pills and snort or chew the powder to get "high." Laced with capsaicin, such a snort or chew would produce intense pain.
"Imagine snorting an extract of 50 jalapeno peppers and you get the idea," Woolf says. "On a one to 10 scale, the pain is about a thousand. It feels like a mininuclear explosion in your mouth. It does not harm you, but you never want to experience that feeling again."

Lemme tell you, if I had a dilaudid right now, laced with 1000 jalapenos, I would put that sucker in my arm so quick--and that little bit of pepper-pain would be nothing compared to the satisfaction. These morons just don't understand the pleasure-pain scale that we are used to dealing with on a daily basis.

Woo Woo I swear that's what they put in the Endo brand generic OxyContin. They burn so bad it brings tears to my eyes. Those fuckers. Check the Oxy forum there is a new post by Jah in there about some 40mg OCs and I said in there that they have to have hot peppers in them

Im a big Chile pepper/Hot Sauce/food Freak...Another one of my addictions...
I was thinking...Being that it is considered a natural painkiller they say it releases your natural endorphins.....
You think it might work as a potentiator as well....Like say you ate a spoon full of hot sauce a minute or two before you Fixed up or snuffed a line...or as you felt your pills or Done kicking in.....
Anybody ever try this....?

Interesting idea. I know that when I eat a very hot pepper, I definitely get some sort of a rush. I think its a good feeling rush, but I'm usually concentrating on the pain in my mouth rather then the good effects. I only get that rush when it is really hot.
I don't think that it would really potentate an opiate high, because it seems short acting to me. And I'm sure that the pain from the peppers would kind of take away from the opiate high.
On a side note, is it possible to get that buzz without the pain? Are the endorphins released because of the capsicum or because of the pain?

It's your body's natural reaction to pain. The capsicum "tricks" pain receptors into thinking you're "really" being burned and acts accordingly.

Me too Woo. In fact, I'm fixin' to hit a dillie right 'bout NOW:D
well I always thought cheese was good as it would improve bio availability as well being quite fatty, also most opiods are proteine binding as well

Right, so this hi-follutin' science-head believes that methadone is 'opium based'; shows how much HE knows eh? What a wanker.

Capsium causes you pain, then your body produces endorphins, which get you naturally high. So it is your brains fault the endorphins are released. :D

i hate to say it, but the bodys natural endorphins are soooo short acting that they arent even worth it. you have to have persisting pain to keep releasing them.
now if they could make a drug that released natural endorphins only, for extended amount of time, we might be on to something.

We talked about his here. Very interesting topic. I love hot pepper/hot sauce, I do get a "rush" from ingesting hot stuff. I feel really good while eating and for quite sometime afterward. It does have to do with endorphines.
