Many of you have been forced to go through the legal system on prohibition violations. I've yet to suffer that fate, and would like to do my best to avoid it by learning as best I can from the mistakes of others.

So, please share your experiences... How did they catch you?

Wrong place wrong time. I'd say 99% of the time people get busted when out to score, or when they're out selling. I guess the best advice I could give you would be dont sell and dont carry shit on you if you dont have to. When you go score dont bring a rig w/ you, while it may not be illegal to posess it pisses cops off. Always keep your dope in your mouth if your walking on the street and atleast in your hand if your in a car. If you get pulled swallow it and never admit it. I'd rather be sick and trying to come up w/ more cash than risk getting picked up and being dope sick in jail. That and dont speed, run stop signs, make sure your vehicle and liscense are all legal. No out headlights or signals etc. Leave shit at home if possible - get high then go to the bar/party what ever. Know your hook ups if possible, your almost always better off w/ a phone number than a street dealer. Dont get too fucked up when your out to score, make sure you keep your senses about you, pretend every ones a cop, dont be so high your swirving and shit. That and keep a positive atitude about it, keep in mind it could happen no matter how cautiouse you are but you are doing everything you can to minimize the risk.

Benzos seem to be an invaluable ally in the fight to get yourself incarcerated. I always make my best bad decisions under the influence of large amounts of klonopin. But, they usually catch you after you've added a little yayo to your already overconfident stupor and taken your wide awake and totally retarded self out on the streets.

I sold to a confidential informant. You figure that you are safe when somebody is using drugs with you, right? I mean an undercover cop isn't going to take a hit off a joint, and sure as hell isn't going to SHOOT UP DOPE with you, right? Well, right, but a confidential informant can do anything they want. The police have a kind of a "don't ask / don't tell" relationship with their CI's. So don't make the stupid mistake I did. If you don't know the people you sell to, don't sell to them.

2 Try to keep some separation between you and the dealer. This plan is a bit more expensive cause you will have to share a little with your gopher.
3 If you meet your connect or runner on the street corner, don't pick the same one all the time.
4 Don't look like a junky or you WILL draw the wrong kind of attention.
5 Wait till you get home to get off
6 Tell your friends as little as possible about your copping activities. Friends get busted too and many will surprisingly roll over on you.
7 Never be giving stuff to a minor no matter what. The consequences are severe. Kids talk too much.
8 If you go to a connects house to cop, not a good idea to begin with, but then don't hang out after you do.
9 Don't go copping high or drunk
10 I really only have nine ways to stay our of jail

This is very true! I had an ex BF who would snitch to the cops & make undercover buys to keep himself out of trouble (or WORSE to make extra money) they would then pay him cash or a percentage of what they recovered & he would us e that to go out & buy himself dope! MOTHERFUCKER nearly got my ass killed being a fucking snitch & Using my car. needless to say that relationship ended shortly tehreafter:rolleyes::mad:


Ok the way I got picked up was stupid, on outstanding warrants for bouncing checks & writing them on a closed acct. (note this is a not a good way to make money as in the end you pay back a gazillion $$ more than the stupid $20 you wrote the check out for to score a bag) Plus you have to PAY to be on probation, in drug court in my case & all kinds of fees they tack on that shit. you even have to pay for the nice constable who picks you up. (though I did get lucky there as I only had one bag on me & some foil & he pitched it) said it was too much paperwork for one bag.

Weird,when I was using I'd sleep 12 hours a day(plus nods) I'd get up at 2pm and crash about 2am.I'd kinda wake up at 4am and 11am to fix.Ahh memories.

i got busted a long time ago.....i was driving and swerved, and the cops were bored so we got pulled over and got given a sobriety test - of coarse we (my bf at the time and i) past so they were pissed, so then they wanted to search the car. i had 2 butterfly knives that i didnt know were illegal at the time, and when they found those i went to jail. i got 2 years probabtion. no comm. service or anything, just a slap on the wrist. many years later im with another guy, and we go into autozone....he starts stealing all this stuff so the cops show up and take us both to jail. i got out the next morning, got a years probabtion once again, but couldnt pay it (i was hiding from my parents), so my prob. officer puts out a warrent and the sherriff shows up at my door at 6am mon morning. i spent 10 days in county, and was so happy to get out, what was weird was i was cut off from all my meds in there, but never expirienced any much of wds. i think its cuz i was so focused on getting out....that was one of the worst 10 days of my life and i never care to go back....

So true. My ma & pa used to sell weed when I was growin up. (Gotta pay the bills, ya know.) Pops never sold to anyone he didn't know tho. One day a guy comes walkin down the street and onto our porch. My dad and his buddy was working on his bike (yeah, on the front porch... big ole shovel-head)... this stranger asks my dad for a "dime", so my dad reaches in his pocket and flips the guy a dime. Guy looks at him dumb-founded and pops yells "now get the fuck off my porch!" Never laughed so hard and learned a good lesson at the same time. Those were the days. ahhhh.

Never caught with posession. I did get two DUI's when I was 21/22 for driving in a benzo blackout (Ativan once, Klonopin the second time). I didn't get the DUI for that though. It was weird because I got a urine screen, and both times they came back negative for benzos, but the first time I had also had pot in my system, so I got busted for that even though it was from the week before. The second time I had coke in my system from two days prior. Loosing your ability to drive sucks. I do tend to drive when I'm moderately buzzed on opiates, but it's not anywhere near nodding off. It's more like pleasure driving to music and relaxing. Probably still not the best thing to do.

haha that's class, good show :) I've never been caught myself but I've never bitten off more than I can chew. I tend never to deal with anyone I don't know, or anyone that doesn't have a lot to lose! Seems a lot of people get pinched in sketchy street deals... I steer well clear of that kinda shit.

the second time, when I actually did get searched he got like 15 x 20mg adderall. It's bullshit that it's a first degree felony in texas for having drugs in a school zone. They only charged me with Possession of a Controlled Substance over 2 grams and under 400 grams in a Drug-free Zone. I'm glad I got arrested as a juvenile. I'm still on conditional release for that and I just got out of jail for failing 5 times for opiates on Conditional release :P 5 x and I finally get lockd up. I'm still awaiting a court date.. they keep postponing it and forcing me to go to an alternative school. In Texas, it's a presumption of guilt if your under age when you commit your crime... or atleast at school; They send you to a alternate school and you learn nothing. I have a suppression hearing that I am awaiting. it's been like 6 months. wow.

Never reach. When you get desperate and start reaching only bad things can happen if you're lucky you'll only get ripped off, if you're not lucky you'll end up in jail. That has always been my number rule in this game and I always follow it even if it means I'll be sick for the day or whatever. The second rule is don't tell people your business, ever. Never busted for opiates (**knocks on wood**). Now that I'm on Rx meds, I find that I don't have the desire to go searching for stuff, cause I got the goods at home, and my insurance company pays for the fix.

I've had a few close calls, they involved driving to score while high. Not a good idea. Not that opies make you think clearly. Me at least.

I have only gotten busted for posession once, thank god, though it's not my only arrest. I, too, was arrested at school as a minor, but I was set up.

An acquaintance of mine asked me if I could hold some ritalin pills of his until school was out, because he thought he was going to get searched. Since there was only one more period in the day, I agreed. I walked out of the bathroom we were in and around a corner, and the on-site police officer popped out of a doorway and grabbed me. Of course, when they found the pills, I told them that they weren't mine, to which they replied, "oh sure. That's what everyone says". When I told them that I knew the kid at least had a lighter and a dime of pot on him, and that I knew where he hid them (there were A LOT of pills, too many to hide with the weed), they said that they didn't care because they already had me. Apparently possession of prescription meds that you don't have a script for is a felony in California, but since it was my first real offense, they dropped it to a misdemeanor. Oh, and it turned out that the pills weren't actually ritalin, but a strong benzo (I don't remember what it was), which made it worse.
The police/administrators of the school were already pissed off with me before this, and had been looking for a way to bust me for months. I used to smoke cigarettes across the street from school every morning/afternoon, but every time they searched me they never found them, which annoyed them to no end (I used to listen to a walkman, and would take the tape out and put the cigs and lighter inside -- they never thought to open it up!).

What irks me the most about the situation was the outcome. When I went to court, the public defender asked me what I was going to plea. I didn't know, so he said, "well, is there any way you can prove that you didn't have the drugs on you?" and I said no, so he told me to plead guilty. I got 1 and 1/2 years of formal probation (weekly and random drug tests, and all the other bullshit), plus 100 hours of community service, and a $600 fine. Later, I found out that if I had pleaded "not guilty" (regardless if I was found guilty afterwards), my punishment would not have been ANYWHERE near as bad. A friend of mine was busted with almost a gram of coke, plead not guilty, and got off with 6-months informal probation (which means you're fine as long as you don't get arrested) and 50 hours of community service or pay a $200 fine. I was SOOOO pissed.

Not only did I end up spending 2 weeks in juvie awaiting my hearing, but another 2 weeks throughout my probation, due to violations. I swear, my PO had spider sense! One time, I had just gotten drug tested the day before, and decided to do some coke ('cos I knew that it would be out of my system before I would have another test, 'cos I never was tested more often than every 4 days), and I swear, 10 minutes after doing some lines, my PO called to tell me she wanted to see me that afternoon for a random test!
