OK, I'm W/D now. It's not real bad, but a real inconvenience because I have A lot to do. Here's my question:
The last time I took codeine I got a script for Tylenol 3 and popped 9 of them right away. I got a rash all over. I figured I'm allergic to codeine, never took it again.
A freind has some now and is willing to give me a few. Does anyone here think it would be safe to take just 3 or so? I just want help with the W/D and I'm wondering if I should risk the allergic reaction again. But my thinking is to only take 3 of them, maybe with some benadryl???
Should I?

If all you're looking for is to ease WD, take some immodium. it wont make you high, but it will make you well. take about 12-14 mg.. you could take the codeine too, but with an allergy, youll have to chase it with 50-75 mg of benadryl. good luck, whichever you choose, brother

I've had a couple random allergic reactions to codeine before. Most of the time I'm fine though. I always take benadryl and sometimes promethazine w/ it, helps a bit when your WD anyways.

Yeah i've had a few weird things happen from codeine a long time ago, now i can take em and im fine, i've noticed that codeine is one of those things that takes people a while for their bodys to get used to it, and then theyre fine.

I'm taking it... That's for sure. I guess I'll throw down some Benadryl and hopefully I'll be OK. Oxycontinuously told me he gets an allergic reaction with high doses but not low ones. That's what prompted me to want to try it tonight. I'll be back to let you know what happens!!!

Take an antihistamine and you'll be fine (benadryl will work).

Thanks to everybody who replied. It turns out my freind also had some Tramadol in her arsenal. I opted for the TRammies over the codeine. I took 500mg. I've taken up to 800mg before with no seizures or any adverse effects to speak of so I'm not worried about it. I feel better. W/D's are gone. I'm not high but I'm not sick either.
Thanks again!

Hey U100, I have an extensive history with Loperamide. I've already taken 30mg of Lop. today. All it does is help the digestive system. Lop alone does nothing else for me. I need more CNS acting opiates and that's all that will work. I'm doing much better now with 500mg of Tramadol. Thanks buddy!!!

Whoa... This freind of mine showed back up with some Percocet 7.5's. 5 of them on top of the Tramadol... I guess that's what good freinds are for. I had her little one here while she went to the ER. Babysitter for Oxycodone.

Almost everyone has a slight allergic reaction to Codeine at those high doses. It's nothing life-threatening or anything, it's just an annoying effect that only lasts a few minutes usually. I normally would only get that reaction if I'd taken 180 mgs or so at once.
And yes, I've found Tramadol to be infinitely more effective at preventing withdrawal than Propoxyphene, Codeine, and even Hydrocodone.

Glad youre feelin better bro. Taking lope saved my fucking ass recently. I guess it varies from person to person, but I swear I felt human taking nothing but lope and a some good pot. Anyway, glad you got sorted.

I also got a rash from scratching my chest and neck real hard from the analgesia of codeine today (300 mg, double CWE, no caffeine) after getting the itchies, which were just horrible (I didnt take a Zyrtec as I hadnt meddled with codeine for months and forgot about the histamines, as oxy is very light on 'em), followed by 15 mg insufflated oxy (no DXMs this time).
I personally find the codeine, ie morphine high cozier and with a more euphoric, albeit short lived, peak than oxy.
I guess heroin must ultimately be the most effective morphine prodrug (no itchiness, euphoric "coziness"), but is straight morphine comparable? I prefer oral methods of consumption.

It could be an allergy, or it could be just that codeine makes people itch a lot. It is one of the itchier opiates, especially in higher doses. At least you get some affect from it though, not that a rash / itching all over is necessarily what you want I know. Some people can't take codeine because they have a deficine CYP enzyme (I forget which one), that prevents the methylmorphine from being broken down into morphine.

I find codeine to have less itch than oxycodone if the dose is under 400mg and as pure as possible
