I didn't know where to put this topic so I put it here. Does anyone know about this compound and what it does? I know it is a combination of ginger, muira puama, catuaba, and guarana, it seems to me like it would be a stimulant.

I have taken the trademarked blend....
and also the 4herb blend that phyto sells that compares to the catuama brand. this blend of herbs is more potent than the catuama brand.

I was able to cut my dose in half in around 8 days when using the material a few years ago. it seemed to help immensly.

now I take it almost daily, mostly for its stimulant effect. if there is any potentiation going on it is most likely not noticed as I take it on such a regular basis.

I love the taste of the blend actually, so I see no reason to gel cap.

I think billi uses the blend when cutting dose or kicking.

the blend could be made pretty easily just buying the seperate extracts, would run a person 40-90$ depending where you shop for your herbs, most of the ingredients are avialable at health food stores as well.

I am definitely interested in this blends supposed cross tolerance, sometimes I think ginger alone might potentiate opiates.

So does this combination potentiate opiates?

has anyone tried catuaba alone?
that sounds interesting as this material contains several tropane-alkaloids, which should have a stimulating effect.

You better be careful fucking around with tropane alkaloids.

catuaba alone is slightly stimulating.
this species is actually a "cousin" of the coca plant.
similiar tropane type of alkaloid content.

catuaba I have noticed in larger doses does not feel so good....the herb made one of my freinds very irritable for a few hours.

the tropane alkaloids in catuaba dont seem to be too potent or toxic.

the herb has a nice mellow stimulant quality. but it probably also might make some people sleepy....given the human variable....

Why ? Can you please elaborate on this...

Papa Ver had an "eye-opening" experience a while back with the datura family of plants, right Papa? ;-)
Aside from being unpleasant, Datura (seeds or plant material from a variety of species; D.Brugmansia, DStramonim, D.Inoxia, atropa belladonna, etc.) contains high levels of atropine, scopolamine, hyoscyamine, and various others. What these chemicals can do, aside from being VERY unpleasant, is raise the core body temp to around 104 and better, depending on the severity of the poisoning. The problem is that one never knows just how much of these alkaloids are present in a fresh plant, seed, seed capsule, or root, so it's taking a chance. Also, just an aside, it's not a hallucinogen like shrooms or LSD--it is more of a deliriant; very unpleasant and NOT a toy. Hope that helps

the plant that contains tropanes in this mix is a cousin to the coca plant, and is used as a common medicinal and aphro. I have consumed the stuff a bunch of times by itself, the catuaba portion of the catuama recipe that is.
it can have some slighly annoying effects in high doses, but in lower doses it is very subtle and some people probably wont feel a thing.

tropane chemistry is something to be wary of, but not in every plant.
