hi yall and yes i be new here. i' ve been lurking forever and joined to ask this question. however i do plan to remain an active part of this wonderful little group. anyway i was wondering if any of you had insight into the maximum tolerance to methadone one could attain without becoming physically dependent.

swim frequently uses between 50 and 80 mg of methadone more or less daily for a couple weeks at a time. however swim can stop for a week plus and never experience symptoms of withdrawal. to reference another drug swim can also take upwards of 50mg of hydrocodone at a time without noticing much if any effect. mind you this is long after methadone levels should be low enough not to monopolize the opiate receptors. swim can tolerate more than 50 mg of hydro however vicodin is the only source available to him lately and he is too lazy for cwe. and btw he is well aware of the dangers of high apap doses. NAC is your friend. in the past 50mg of hydro would be very effective.

so whats up? is my friend strangely immune to opiate withdrawals or is his level of use simply not great enough to cause physical dependence? thank you all for putting up with my long ass post and know that i look forward to being an active member here in the future.:)

If you havent gotten sick yet, and you continue to do opiates, you will. You arent immune to withdrawal. As far as I know, no one is. Unless they are brain dead, in which case, dope is useless anyways. :p

keep taking methadone in the 50-80 mg range then tell us about your withdrawal "immunity."

the reason you don't experience a (noticeable) withdrawal is that a few weeks time isn't enough for your body to accustom itself. though i'd bet that it's just a matter of time til you drop the week-off.

regarding that hydrocodone doesn't do it for you anymore: well, that's definitely thanks to the methadone.
taking it in these quantities you can forget basically any other opioid to still continue to bring you pleasure.

i truely hate methadone (it makes me depressive AND agressive all day long).
and the worst of it: even though fully aware of how bad it makes me feel i still fell the need to take it. eventhough its just badness. its like being addicted to agony. sweet pleasure!

btw what's your opioid-history?
anyway, i'd stay far-far away from the evil that is methadone.

Welcome. Central Coast Huh? I assume you mean california. I spent many years in SLO and I love the central coast.

Firstly, congratulations on your god-like ability to avoid w/d's. I used to be an occasional OC user for many months (when I lived in SLO) before I became addicted. If I was you, I would keep using less and less frequently and increase your 'time-off' periods. Cuz its only a matter of time until that monkey hops on your back (no one is immune). Good luck and have fun!

I have a hard time believing someone can have a tolerance to opiates he/she isn't dependent on yet...
