Well, the top of my left hand is pink and swollen, due to what I'm sure is (from reading the long thread about this) because of a missed shot of coke. The doc was pretty shocked when I told him what I'd done to myself and prescribed Cepfialexin, an antibiotic. He told me I should get into treatment. He's probably right. Anyways, what do I tell my parents/coworkers when they ask about my hand? I really dont' want anyone finding out.

this is just an opinion. that said, you said that you probably need treatment. you could use this opportunity to tell everyone what's going on.
personally, i wouldn't. so here's what you could say.
Tell them you have cellulitis. It causes the "symptoms" you've described. BTW cellulitis is an inflammation of the connective tissues underneath the skin.
just a few ideas.
^^ good idea. Be sure to end with " so I'm going to need a few days off work " :D
