kratom is also called mitragyna speciosa..
it has opioid/stimulant effects.
it can be dysphoric to some people..

but really you should look up more info on the internet and get yourself aquainted.

Kratom is a plant native to Thailand that is used as a substitute for opium. As I understand it, it is also used to help with heroin and morphine addiction. As for "what it is technically" one of the other chemistry guys will have to answer you there, but there are opioid agonists in kratom that CAN be antagonized by narcan, so it does indeed demonstrate some opiate activity. It's a legal way for western addicts to maintain, though in Thailand it's use is illegal (on paper anyway, many people still use it).

the alkaloids dont seem to be destroyed by lower heat, even smoking kratom resin provides some effects.

one of the most potent experiences I had was vaporizing the alkaloid equivalent of 25 grams of kratom in a few hits. this was a 3x refluxed ethanol extract produced on some quality epuipment.

when first researching kratom 4-5 years ago I would make my own crude ethanol extract and even that was active smoked.

the alkaloids seem to be pretty resistant to just water solutions. I found that kratom would still have significant alkaloids after being boiled even twice.

this is one of of approaching this.....
boil your kratom one time for the best tea. throw the mush (the mark) in the freezer, then the next time, boil that kratom mush that has been frozen in a 30% lime juice to 70% water solution, the citric acid will help to strip the alkaloids. drain and repeat once and a water wash and you should have 99% of the alkaloids out of there.
this makes for a complete use of the leaf material.
I started just eating the powder after awhile though, nothing like getting EVERYTHING in there.

plus the fiber, and I would imagine some querciten as well?
