View Full Version : More about bupe: how long to wait after low dose?

Hey guys,
I needed to know how long one should optimally wait after a low low Suboxone dose to use a full agonist. I had a friend who took a minimal dose, less than 1 mg, maybe about .5 mg sublingual. This was taken progressively throughout the day. The last supplement was taken around 10:00 pm through a different method, intranasal. Is this sufficient dose to block the receptors? I know its individualized to a degree, but how long should my friend wait before taking his normal, daily full agonist?

Sorry I was'nt clear. He took a total dose a 0.5 mg in small increments throughout the day as needed. Thanks for any response.

Really doubt that will be enough to block much of the activity of a full agonist. I have taken 2-4mg and been able to almost fully feel heroin 12 hours afterwards. When taking like 1mg or less I have gotten almost full feeling from heroin about 6-8 hours afterwards. So your friend probably won't notice very much if any difference.

For me it would depend on how long(*days) I had been using Bupe. Because I use it daily 20 to 24 hours at 36 hours I'm clear for full opiate

I was wondering the same thing. I have only been on bupe for 4 days and tomorrow night I want to get high. If I take around 1mg early in the day to get through work, I wuld get full effects from heroin if I did it aroun 8 pm? I really don't want to be wasting any dope.... I did too much of that when finding out that h and tramadol didn't mix *rolls eyes* .
Come on, more experience stories please....:)

well, found out the answer to that one the hard (and wasteful way). I took about .5mg of bupe this morning thinking i'd be okay...started feeling shitty (thinking this was good so the dope would work bettr) and about 11 hours later worked through two bags and all i got was a buzz for a half hour and a bad headache. Great. Next time I'll wait longer...
gggrrrr.

I have since found that 36 hours seems to be the point, for me, where the bupe doesn't block a full agonist.

I have some 10/500 and am itching to take em, problem is I"m on suboxone 3x a day at 8mg each, took my last dose at 4pm yesterday, then took my last one at 9 pm but after it dissolved under my tongue a while I spit all the saliva out and not sure if it did anything or not. If I waited till 9 pm tonite (24) hours should I be good to go? I might pop some now but I'm sure I'll cause a battle with the receptors for sure, maybe even the weird situation I had before when I took vicodin 18 hours after my last sub dose. I know vicodin is a full agonist and bupe is only a partial with naloxone in it, but if I pop enough vicodin will it push through the wd fast?

I just hope I dont wd bad and then in comes someone who thinks I've been clear for months now.

Wow, I started to feel REAL good :), not quite like back when I first started vicodin but seems like being on suboxone for months kind of potentiated the vicodin even though I took one pill and then 20 mins ago took 3 more vicodin and now I'm really cozy and happy. I have read on here that the naloxone in sub actually can act as a potentiator, how that works I dont know. Only thing I know right now is I"m feeling real good and I took these 4 vics only 18 hours after my last sub dose. Just be careful everyone, I"m sure everyone's body chemistry is different and some may get real sick doing this, some might not. I did the first time I fell off the wagon months ago while on sub then going to vicodin, now I get a smooth transition from it. Maybe my chemistry adabpted to me switching from sub to hydrocodone, not sure its strange.
