How to cancel a post?

How do you cancel a post when you've already hit 'reply'? The only way I've figured is to go back up to active topics. Is this the only way?

you can hit back, refresh, edit... or scroll to the top and reclick the title of the thread, or yes, active topics...

but the only thing you can do is change the post... to actually make it go away you'd have to request a mod or admin to delete it.
