Fentanyl and heat

Please forgive me, but am sooo new to this stuff, and did not find a seach for question.
After putting on a patch and applyinhg heat: pad. wheat warmer, etc...how long is the patch good for! I am supposed to wear 72 hour. If I put the heat on right away is it now any good for the extended time, and can you apply heat more that once?

if you're new to this stuff, then you shouldn't be fucking around with fentanyl!

Be VERY CAREFUL heating the patch, it speeds the absorption of fentanyl through the skin. You might get too much fent at once.

Sorry, hope I will not be this STUPID...I have the 25mcg, and just put a bit of heat on it to get going faster, I am not one of these to put 2 100s on or have a death wish. I was just curious if you apply heat, wouls it still be good to wear for the durtion of the 72 hrs,ie..any meds still coming out after the heat?

Yes, please be careful, Tres. My mom had fent patches and I noticed in the hospital, the nurses would apply a little heat to her patch to get it going. Of course, she was in the end stages of pancreatic ca, so she *really* needed the pain relief fast. It should still work for the 72 hours, but one of the p/m mods might want to answer this instead of me.

be careful with the fent till you know what it will do and how it will affect you. heat WILL make it kick in faster but it will also decrease the length of time that it works. there is only so much in the patch and if you release more than designed and earlier than it is planned for, it WILL last less time than 72 hours.

you can apply heat more than once depending on how long you leave the heat on but again, be careful.

you will NOT get a big rush from heat, more like a body slam when it kicks in. by then it is too late if you do not have much of a tolerance so again, be fkn careful. if at all in doubt, DON'T apply heat, use it as prescribed and take a little of your BT meds.

if you apply heat, how are you going to know if the 25mcg is working or not? you need to be able to know the difference so you can tell your dr if the dose is too low or if it is about correct.

just remember to be safe as fent is nothing to fuck around with if you have no experience with it.
