:speechles I have to go back to the doctor. Unfortunately i have bruises from a weekend bender as well as tiny red bumps... is there any way i can make these go away faster? I have heard of a warm compress and i have also heard of icing it. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

SWIM once read that leeches can remove buises.I wouldn't do it though because I'm a 120' mushroom alien monster.

Zogle I think you're obsessed with your appearance and provenance. If you're going to come down here and mingle with us junkies, then for fuck's sake try and integrate, eh?

SWIM felt very bad that Zogledans reply may have been taken as a insensitive zinger.
SWIM looked up some remedies for you

SWIM is a little damaged from the 80s too much LSD and role playing games. His identity crisis is one of the main reasons he loves escapism through all form of sorcery be it chemical, metaphysical or spiritual.
Your situation is a serious one and he does understand that.
Here are some ideas to help you with your upcoming appointment.
1. if you can postpone it do so.
2.If you have a twin send them.
3.create a situation where you have a valid documented excuse for missing the appointment.
4.continue to research other means of remedying your problem before discovery by your doctor.

SWIM sincerely hopes this helps, and wild leeches would most likely be a bad idea.
Best of luck

Hot compress will get the blood flowing which should help if you've got a few days... also make up

What's with all the hostility??
I dont know who SWIM is, so I can't talk about his identity crisis

dont use makeup if your going to be injected by your doc for blood tests! cuz it will wipe off on the alcohol pad and he'll see it! So will any nurse who gives you blood tests! Have a warm bath and dont touch the area too much. It should go away soon.

Alos, try some Hirudoid (search on it) or some other anti-bruising cream. It hastens visible healing and softens scar tissue.

I always plaster my arms w/ neosporin, doesnt help w/ bruising but it seems to get rid of the little red spots/dots a good deal quicker.

hmm... have you ever noticed that neosporin makes scarring worse? or is that just me?

I have a little bit of scar tissue but not much, I have a lot of veins that I can stick things into, I move around a lot and try not to poke at the same spot to many times. I havnt noticed a problem w/ neosporin and scarring but that doesnt mean it might not be an issue, its just always helped me get rid of my tracks in a hurry for court and the like.

It's me agian... I've got about 20 hrs to go... I cannot postpone appointment because ive done it once and plus it's for suboxone... even though i still have plenty (hence the bender)

All i have to do is fool the nurse who takes my blood pressure... I NEED A FEMALE WHO KNOWS MAKE-UP!!!! is there a single product that will work?! like compound or something? my right arm isn't so bad, but my left is still a little fucked... i've been hot compressing it when i can, but its not enough... I'm seriously considering leeches because ive heard of them b4, plus i can get them at the bait shop... in about 5 more hours, all i'll have to fall on is wallmart!!!!

HELP!!

I may try one or more of the following:

vitamin c (oral)
vit e+k (topical)
Hirudoid cream or Arnica cream (anone use these?)
makeup
heating pad

Anymore help/researches/expierences would be greatly appreciated... its been 2.5 days already... the bruises are almost but not quite gone.

Thanks:juggle:

bait shop leeches and medical leeches are very different,I do not think good old Bubba keeps them in a sterile environment like the medical lab at a university.SWIM says don't do the leeches.

Hey Zogle, who's SWIM? Is it your earth-bound alter-ego? Have you noticed that my mugshot and my game bird are both exactly the same colour? That's what comes of me rubbing my face all over her naked body when she's just applied the tanning lotion.
Do you have tanning lotion on your planet? Or perverted fowl, for that matter? :p

I have never had them pull my long sleeved shirt up just to do BP either, the always do it over my clothing.

this is what i always do too... try to act normal and show as little of the 'areas' as possible. always worked, except once when the nurse took blood... she was none too happy but we worked it out.

Arnica gel or cream works real well on bruises and helps them fade fast. Also if you miss a shot, treat it right away by applying a warm compress. After injection, hold cotton or tissue on the site for a few minutes to minimize bruising. So get some pressure on those sites as soon as you pull needle out and keep pressure on it for a few minutes. It works.

I know for some finding good spots is hard, but try to avoid just poking around. Hit spots you feel will give good results.

Keeping yourself hydrated is a good way to find veins. The more volume, the more they will pop up.
Use creams that minimize marks such as cocoa butter creams a couple of times a day. This will help hide those marks. Creams with Vit. E are good as well.

And rotating sites all the time is the best way to go as well(if you can). This will minimize scarring and those ugly black marks that come from injecting in the same place.

This is probably an old issue now, but if you're just having blood pressure taken then just wear a thin long-sleeve shirt. Problem solved.

Several times I've had blood pressure taken where they've put the cuff right over my shirt.
