Regina Spektor - cool chick and good music

Generally, I hate current popular music and I don't usually care for female singers, but Regina Spektor is an exception. She's kinda quirky and weird, which I like, and plays piano and sings. It helps she's cute, too.

Anyone else listen to her? I just discovered her in the last few weeks. She's kind of a mixture of Tori Amos, Bjork, Fiona Apple, and Joni Mitchell, but better than any of them and not annoying like them either.

Better than Joni Mitchell?!?! I do like Regina but I wouldn't go that far...but I also don't like comparing any musician to any other. Though I'm sure I have done it many times before and because of that I am once again proven to be a hypocrite.
Her voice makes my happy. Which is significant.

Yep! I love her voice. I'm also really into Lilly Allen currently. Another quirky female singer.

I'm a pretty big fan of Regina, I'm in love with Soviet Kitsch. Begin to Hope fell short. A little TOO well done, if you know what I mean.

Okay, in defense of Joni Mitchell, I haven't actually heard very much of her stuff, but Regina has been compared to her in several sources, so I included Joni in that statement.

I think that Tori Amos is very talented, but wretchedly annoying. Regina Spektor is everything Tori Amos should be, but isn't and never will be. I'm just getting into Regina and it's exciting discovering new stuff. I haven't listened to anything "current" since Faith No More back in the early 1990's.

Another really cool, weird, cute piano-playing chick is Nellie McKay. If ya have a chance, check that one out.

Heavens no! Cows only, no bulls. You know, I was alluding to the old (but ever popular) Jews-as-horned-devils image. It just seemed like an odd comment (especially considering the name 'Trotski'), and I'm not certain whether he was joking or not.
