So, I don't know what got me into pill popping, but I love it. Uppers, downers, you name it. Thought i would just start a general discussion about this... I'm on some kpins and xanax right now, coming down from adderall, and about to take some ambien so i can get my ass to sleep.... Anyone have anything entertaining?!?!

I havtn run into good quality downers for some time. the last time I had klonipin was when the methadone clinic in San Rafeal gave me great scripts for when I stopped taking the methadone. My aunt paid for me and my ex wifes 3 week methadone taper....and we complied with the program, and they gave us a good smattering of prescriptions to help.
the problem with me and klonipins is that I can become belligerent on them. I might do and say stupid things ........
the best for me is valium...xanax makes me more tired, valium gives me some warm euphoria.
I havnt tried any of the others, cept for hydroxazine, which was pretty nice mixed with opiates.
I could probably pick up a prescription for a benzo, but would hate to get put on xanax...and that seems to be the more common benzo that they will try and put you on.
I know that small amounts of valium have been found in potatoes growing in peru...so valium is an organic substance. I think that valium has also been found to be an endogenous compound in humans as well. maybe that is why it feels so good.

Naw, unfortunately that is just urban legend.
From Wiki: "As valerian has a calming effect on people, it is believed that benzodiazepines [[e.g., ValiumŪ]] contain or are derived from valerian. However, ValiumŪ has nothing to do with valerian and the similarity of names is only coincidental [1]."
Natural benzos - http://www.springerlink.com/content/697rlu2g7htmclg0/
It makes sense in a way that benzos would occur in nature - we do have receptor sites for benzos already in our heads, just like we have receptor sites for opiates. It is almost like someone/thing wanted us to discover these plants.
Life is so danged interesting sometimes! :)

Valerian has been described as being like a natural valium, but like HOM said, it does not contain any valium. Valerenic acid is the chemical in valerian responsible for the anxiolytic and sedative effects.
Many mushrooms in the Amanita genus contain Muscimol, which is more potent than Valerenic acid for being a GABA(A) agonist.

I have been smoking muscimol lately....has a relaxing effect after a slight stimulation.
I think valerian has some compound in it that effects the gaba/benzo receptors, but it is not valium. the same compound occurs in buddliea flowers, and the extract of that material sold by some companies definitely induces relaxation, at least that I have found.
valium has been found in potatoes in small doses.
partial benzodiazepine agonists, non muscular are found in dan shen, a medicinal salvia species. the actives are tanshinone and miltirone...miltirone is the stronger of the two. actually miltirone can be modified to produce a compound 6x the potency of miltirone. I know a chemist who is working on conversion.
I know that there are other gaba agonists out there in the herb world. let me get back to this post later..........

I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite out of those three, I think they are all brilliant in their own way.
I loved the South Park about when the actors pretended to come back in time from the future to convince the kids not to do drugs.
And of course, the many rips they make on $cientology, especially the last episode with Chef (who quit the show citing "religious intolerance" when they stared making fun of Hubbard and HIS "religion", demonstrating that Issac Hayes is apparently the only person on the planet who DOESN'T watch the show - I mean, is there any religion that SP *hasn't* poked fun at?
People need to lighten up. Actually no, screw that, people need to LIGHT up.
Oh something I always loved specifically about South Park is that there is always that parental warning before the show that say something about "Warning, this show contains mature subject matter..." - now is there ONE DAMNED THING that is even remotely mature about South Park? :)
