$400,000 in smack on a 78-year old man? You don't see that one everyday.... (http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/thirteen-held-in-heroin-raids/2005/06/30/1119724725839.html)
A 78-year-old man is among 13 people arrested in drug raids on seven properties in Melbourne's inner north and west. Houses in Brunswick, Kensington, Carlton and North Melbourne were raided by Victoria Police about 6am.
"They uncovered a large quantity of heroin with a wholesale vale of about $400,000," a police spokeswoman said.
"One of the 13 was a 78-year-old man found with heroin in his possession."
Heroin found at the properties was expected to have a street value of more than $1 million. The spokeswoman said the 13 suspects were being interviewed at the St Kilda Road police complex. In a separate overnight raid, the Major Drug Investigation Division found an amphetamines laboratory at Christmas Hill. A man, 58, was arrested when police searched a property in Ridge Road before 2.30am. A police spokeswoman said the raid was part of a three-month operation. She said the laboratory would be dismantled today.

ALOT OF OLD PEOPLE ARE DRUG RUNNER'S,SUPPLIER'S,EVEN MANUFACTUREROR'S!! THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE SIMPLE FACT THAT,OLD PEOPLE ARE NOT THOUGHT TO BE INVOLVED IN THIS ACTIVITY BECAUSE OF THE SIMPLE FACT: THEY'RE OLD!! WE AS HUMAN BEING'S TEND TO THINK THAT SENIOR CITIZEN'S ARE INNOCENT AND TOO OLD TO EVER BE INVOLVED IN THIS.
IF ONE WERE TO GO TO ANY " NARCOTIC STATE",(WHICH IS A TERM USED HERE IN THE U.S.A.,FOR A COUNTRY WHO'S ECONOMY IS DEPENDANT ON THE PRODUCTION OF DRUG'S) THEY MIGHT BE STARTLED TO FIND THAT MANY OF THOSE THAT ARE INVOLVED IN THE HIGH END( THE GROWING/PROCESSING AND SHIPPING/RECIEVING) ARE MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, SENIOR'S!! IN THOSE COUNTRIES,THEY ARE CONSIDERED TO BE VERY WISE ( WHICH THEY ARE,FOR ANOTHER SIMPLE FACT THAT THEY HAVE YEAR'S OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE) AND THEY ARE VERY,VERY MUCH RESPECTED IN THERE COMMUNITY('s) AND THEY HOLD TOP POSITION'S IN THE WORLD'S NARCOTIC MARKET! THEY ALSO "DEAL" ONLY WITH OTHER SENIOR'S OF THE COUNTRY('s) WITH WHO'M THEY ARE IN "BUSINESS". THEY HAVE MUCH RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER AND THAT IS HOW THEY KEEP THE MARKET RELATIVELY SAFE AND EASY (SO THEY DON'T DRAW ATTENTION TO THEMSELVE'S) WHICH KEEP'S THE "MARKET" RUNNING SMOOTHLY. WE DON'T HEAR OF THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT THE ONE'S WHO ENGAGE IN THE VIOLENCE (WHICH HAPPEN'S MOSTLY BECAUSE OF COMPETITION)....THEY ARE THE ONE'S WHO CALL THE SHOT'S!! THE MASTERMIND'S IF YOU WILL.
HERE IN MY COUNTRY,ALOT OF SENIOR CITIZEN'S SUPPLEMENT THEIR INCOME BY SELLING DRUG'S. THEY DON'T DO IT FOR THE MATERIAL WEALTH(MAYBE FOR A LITTLE) BUT THEY DO IT FOR SHEER SURVIVAL,OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD THEIR NEED'S AND MEDICATION'S. THEY CAN WALK,DRIVE,TAKE THE TRAIN/BUS, AND BE CARRYING A FEW POUND'S OF DOPE ON THEM WITH NO ONE SUSPECTING A THING!! AND THIS IS GOING ON AS I WRITE THIS.
SOME OF THEM DO USE THE DRUG'S THEY ARE CARRYING,SOME OF THEM DON'T. I HAPPEN TO KNOW QUITE A FEW OLDER SENIOR'S (65 TO 80 YEAR'S OLD!) WHO USE HERION,SMOKE CRACK,SNIFF COKE,SMOKE BLUNT'S. THEY ARE THE GENERATION OF "DRUGGIE'S" BEFORE US,AND SOME OF THEM HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN DRUG'S SINCE THEY WERE KID'S!! (KID'S ARE ALSO EMPLOYED BECAUSE THEY ARE ALSO AMONG THE VERY LEAST SUSPECTED TO EVER BE INVOLVED IN SUCH A THING! BUT THAT IS A WHOLE OTHER STORY IN ITSELF!) THERE ARE LITERALLY GENERATION'S OF DRUG DEALING FAMILIE'S OUT IN THE WORLD,WHO HAVE BEEN DOING SO FOR CENTURY'S,AND TO ME,THAT IS NOT SURPRISING AT ALL BECAUSE MANKIND HAS BEEN USING DRUG'S SINCE THE DAWN OF CREATION!! SO,ANY WAY'S I'M GOING TO FINISH THIS BY SAYING THAT WHEN I GET OLD(IF I LIVE TO GET THERE!!) I WILL MOST LIKELY BE USING SOME FORM OR ANOTHER OF DRUG'S!! MY OLD AND CREAKY BONE'S/JOINT'S WILL MOST LIKELY BENEFIT FROM SOME MEDICAL GRADE MARIJUANA AND A STEAMING CUP OF STRONG POPPY TEA!! I PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE TOO CONCERNED ABOUT THE LAW OR POLICE BECAUSE BY THAT AGE,I WON'T HAVE TOO MUCH LONGER TO LIVE ANYWAY'S!!
ALOT OF SENIOR'S DO IT BECAUSE THEY FEEL THAT THEY DON'T HAVE MUCH TOO LOSE ANYWAY'S,AND IF THEY DID GET ARRESTED,THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN IS THAT THEY WOULD SPEND THEIR LAST FEW YEAR'S IN PRISON. IN MY COUNTRY THAT WOULD'NT NECESSARILY BE A BAD THING BECAUSE THEY WOULD A LEAST GET THE SHELTER,FOOD,AND MEDICAL ATTENTION THEY NEED. ALOT OF SENIOR CITIZEN'S ARE LONELY,SO THEY WOULD HAVE MANY FELLOW SENIOR'S TO PLAY CARD'S AND CHESS WITH AND THEY WOULD'NT BE LONELY ANYMORE. WHEN I WAS IN JAIL FOR A WHILE,THE SENIOR'S WERE TREATED WITH VERY MUCH RESPECT BY THEIR FELLOW INMATE'S,WITH THEM CALLING THE OLD GUY'S "POP", EVEN WITH A LITTLE AFFECTION(NOT PERVERT AFFECTION,JUST MANLY FRIEND AFFECTION) ADDED. THE OTHER INMATE'S EVEN LOOK AFTER THE OLD GUY'S AND BELIEVE ME,IF SOMEONE FUCKED WITH ONE OF THE "POP'S", THEY WOULD GET THE LIVING SHIT BEAT OUT OF THEM SEVERELY!!
SO, I HOPE I ADDED A LITTLE INSIGHT TO THIS THREAD, I GOT THIS INFO FROM THE OLD DRUG DEALING OR OLD DRUGGIE'S I KNOW......

Two things, sidman:
#1: Nice to see a new englander around here! Perhaps someday we'll be able to form a local Nor'easter's network for sharing resources, sources and hookups.....
#2: Damn dude, ever heard of turning the Caps Lock key off? LMAO :D

Make that 3:
#3: Do you HAVE to put an apostophe before the 's' in EVERY plural word? Sure, I can figure out what it means, but it throws me when I'm trying to just read along. Apostrophes (not "apostrophe's") are supposed to indicate ownership, not a plural!

I agree with Fiiendin "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!??????????"
Come on you guys! Surely with all the troubles we face in the world today, there are more important things to worry about than the over use of capital letters or the misuse of the apostrophe on an internet website for opiate lovers!!!!

PS No offence meant to anyone!!

Well, like me, there are lots of people out there in pain who aren't scared by H's stigma and are willing to give it a go in terms of pain control, for quality of life....at 78, who's worried about addiction?

The suggestion to not use all caps and to TRY to use more conventional
punctuation is a reasonable one! It's tough to read sidman's post the
way it is.
MAKE IT EASY ON THE READER.
The harder it is to read/follow, the fewer people will try to read it and
ultimately respond! I tend to ignore giant posts that are in CAPS
as it's too much work to figure out what the poster is saying.
You took the time to communicate your thoughts here, just take a
tiny bit of extra time to make sure your thoughts are presented
in a way that's easy for other people to consume....
Just a friendly tip, nothing more....

And there are people here whose first language is not English. The clearer the better for them, and for most of the rest of us.

yeah, you guy's are right. I have toned down using the cap lock now,and you will see it in my posts from now on. thanx for the honesty guy's!!
so,anybody else know some senoir citizen Dope addict's? I have a few freind's who are pretty old addict's( one is 59,the others are 65, and 71!! Heroin has no age discrimination!!)
Does anyone beside me feel that they too may go into their Old age as "active" users?
I am afraid I may be one who will! I'm 35 going on 36 in March and every year I tell myself that this year I will quit forever because I am "gettin' too old for this shit!!" then I just keep on goin' and gettin' high!! This feeling just floors me because I had 15 day's clean and today I went and copped a bag o' dope! again!! How many times will I keep doing this to myself and will I grow to the age of 99 and still stick a needle in my arm? Or will I finally "grow up" and leave it all behind? man............how frickin' baffling!
I know quite a few elederly people that are still opitated, but I'm in FLA. :p
Seriously, I have known a lot of people (even some relatives), that stay "active" for their entire lives. I don't see myself stopping anytime soon; unless is forced. I don't think anything about enjoying opiates, pain management, or dependency has to do with age. In this game, IMO, age is a moot point really.

It doesn't matter if it's considered shouting. It's just so damn annoying, especially on the eyes. jUSt lIKe iF I tYPeD lIKe tHIs.
The fact is. Old people who may not have worked all their lives or don't have a good pension are totally screwed. When you're that old. You've got nothing left to loose. Think of it like this. If tobacco was banned all over the world tomorrow. The cost of cigarettes would go up. Cigarettes could cost $10 per stick or $100 a pack. Hell one day maybe even $1000 a pack. It's just the way things are.
The problem with illicit drugs is that they are sold by criminals. They don't have to meet a certain standard. They can be cut with anything. They can be too pure or not pure enough. The industry isn't regulated and that's the problem with them.
I don't know about anyone else. But I think it would be better if these drugs were regulated by civil Governments. Take them out of the criminals hands and put them into the hands of industry. Which can be regulated by the Government. The pharmaceutical industry is already setup to handle such things.
