In lieu of using sterilised water, I have been microwaving all the water that's added to my mix -- about 10mls for 1 minute (850 watt oven)

Does anyone else do this? Is this sterile enough and what else do you use when you cannot get sterile?

I always used water amps, but I've seen everything from toilet water to milk used.I guess it's a case of in despiration a good cook/boil hides a multitude of sins.

When I was doing meth, at the worst of times I have poured water out of the faucet in a filthy men's room sink into my left hand while I sucked it into the rig with my right hand. Then just spray into the spoon, mix and shoot.

That was about the worst I've ever been and I lived like that for a few months, and I still have pretty good veins.

I have bacteriostatic water vials, but sometimes just boil distilled water in a tiny Pyrex beaker and use it. It depends upon how quickly I notice that I'm running out of the "good" water and how fast the postman gets it to me.

As I mentioned in another post somewhere here, I have used everything from the ice left in a melted cup of mountain dew, to watered down iced tea. If you are sick, you use what you have and pray to the god of smack that it doesn't kill you.

Obviously, the best is sterile water. But boiling your water or putting it in the microwave is just as good. Tap water is OK as well if your cooking your shot! Not the best, but if it is all you have and you cook your shot, your OK.

If you have access to Needle Exchange, they should have sterile water there. Tell them your picking up for a few friends and they will give you enough for a while.

Also, remember it is not only the water that matters, but cleaning the site and washing your hands well. Keep all your equipment clean and dry.
