Nitrous- what's up family...

Someone used to do Phish, Panic tours and festivals with tanks to pay the way. This guy's been out of the scene for a while, but recently he asked me what 6 foot tanks of medical-grade are going for- I didn't know what to tell him- back then, they were $250/per, but those were family/nitrous mafia prices.

It really depends on who you are buying it from and how close you are to them really. I would say anywhere between $200-$400 would be square, but I wouldn't pay more than that. I have only got tanks a few times and being that for the most part I use alone I prefer to just order the dispensers and chargers now-a-days.

the nitrous mafia has gotten out of CONTROL latley....@ trey last may i watched a girl bust a guy in the head w/ a skateboard cause he told her to move their tank away from his car...back in the day u didnt see the balloons till AFTER the show, but now ppl start blowin their money for a 30 second high before they even see the music.

on panic tour there is this 4 yr old little wookie boy who holds a saftey pin and pops ppls balloons, then when they complain the kids dad beats them up. crazy wooks:)

yeah I have friends who hustle tanks and I had to make a few calls for them cause they kept getting their tanks jacked at bonnaroo and panic. once the boyz found out they were family it was cool but things got hot for a minute.

Here if you got the bottle, and know the right place it is $3.50-$4.00 a pound, so the 50 pound bottle would be $230 ish including tax. My state (Cali) you can fill your bottle with pure n20 as long as you are 21 with ID, you just got to find the right place I have been going to the same one for about 12-13 years to fill my bottles. Its completely legal to posses medical grade n20 as long, as you dont have any "devices" that can be used for inhalation (balloons, ect) I always find it funny when i see people at head shops buying whip it's, or people that swear by them..I have asked many why they dont just buy a tank and get it filled, its a allot cheaper then whip-its, last a hell of lot longer,and a way, way better buzz. Most them didnt know it is legal to fill with medical grade gas, or they called many places out of the phone books and asked them "do you fill with medical grade n20" even if you call the right one 9-10 they will still tell you "no" Over the years I have sold 20-30 brand new full tanks to friends and friends of friends, I will pick it full for them at what I pay, and they get to fill my babby 10 pound tank for me as a "service charge"..so it works on both ends, even though i will sit there and help suck up there gas beofre i even crack the nozzle on mine..

hmmm... i don't even know where to look. i live in VA. since it's not illegal, am i allowed to ask how to go about finding a store i can get a full tank at? whipped cream chargers are way overpriced, even on ebay.

In VA I believe you have to be lincensed to purchase medical grade n2o..you can only purchase n20 +sulfur= racing gas at speed shops, but NO pure n20, as this is the case in alomst every state...the only two that I know for sure that you can purchase medical grade n20 is cali and alaska

I still have a bump on my head from the parking lot at the old Gahdan In boston from Phish NYE '93-'94 (the one with the giant hot dog. I'm far from preacy but bringing nitrus to shows like that isn't alwyas the best idea... First off there is a pretty esablshed thing going on there and they don't take kindly to the random tank stealing their $ (as they see it). The othe is that it just makes a mess... there are baloons everywhere and it doesn't sit well with pomoters. When we do gas at shows we typically bring a smaller tank 10lb as opposed to a 50lb (save Oak Mtn 02... don't get me started), tip the hotel maids in advance and keep it private. I try not to hang out with the lot riffraf anymore anyways.

my friends and i used to get all of our tanks together and go to a fountain out in Eastern MA to fill up before going to shows. it was real cheap and there were other kids in there doing the same thing

I love my gas but I just don't fuck with pushing tanks (or pushing anything in lot nowadays) way to sketchy. I'm kinda sick of lots anyways its all about the hotel rooms.

I need to figure out whats up with these tanks. I have been a devout "whipit" user for years, but its just so costly and wasteful. I hate that feeling, after a good nights go at it, to look on the floor and see a sea of metal that your going to throw away =\

Aw hell check this out, my mom had this job as a dental hygenist in my hometown, anyhoo, we'd go in that office after hours and crank the valve on the nitrous tank all the way up, turn the oxygen off, put the make on your face and get so fucked up, you'd be falling down laughing your ass off, it was great!!!! I'd be so high I couldn't stand up. The dentist couldn't figure out why his nitrous tanks were always empty, heheheh:D:D:D
