I remember the red ones were 500mg and the green ones ("greenie meanies") were 750. We used to do them to come down off rails of coke in the 80s. Abbott stopped making them almost a decade ago, dunno if a generic is available in the US but I don't think it is.

I remember these pills. You could suck the liquid out of them and shoot it. Just stick your syringe in the gel coating and suck it out. It would make you feel like you were having a heart attack when you hit it thou.

I have this really vivid memory of cutting one in half to split with a friend and swallowing it.

To say that jel tastes like ass would be generous. If you have ever tasted 5-MEO-DIPT or GBL, you have the idea - just multiply that cringe by several orders of magnitude and you know how Placidyl tastes.

This was the 80s, before I ever used a needle. I didn't realize you could shoot them. I know you can shoot Restoril (temazepam) and they kind of remind me of how Placidyl felt (I've never done Restoril IV either).

I IV'ed one once, don't know anyone who did it twice. I thought I was going to die too.

These were prescribed for severe insomnia. I think Elvis took them. All I remember is they knocked me out pretty soon after I took them. Also, I burped them up all the next day. NOT a pleasant thing....

Ok nobody seems very fond of them I guess the reason they took them off the market must be because they were injectable. Now for the other question are they available in any other countries still?

I'm always placid after some of the good stuff.

Would you compare it to any other sedative/hypnotics? Like how applesauce said it kind of felt like Restoril do you agree and do you know any other similar feeling tranqs. I'm just always intrigued with discontinued drugs.

If memory serves, when I just ate one, and didn't inject it, I think it was more like a drunk feeling. It reminded me of seconal or some other potent barbituate. But it's been 25 years since I've heard of these. I just remember grabbing my chest and promiseing God I'd never shoot this stuff again if he would just let me live! They were that bad. I doubt they are made in any country but I don't know

Yeah, you haven't lived until you've done what the nut wards used to call "the thorazine shuffle." Or better yet, get a nice stiff shot of haldol, that'll make you see god hahaha.

Yeah, I fixed a jelly green *once*. I'd rather fix seconals, if I just *had* to put something in a needle, but fuck all that downer crap. Half the guys on "the wall" down here, that's the kind of crap they like, when they can't get a quart of beer in the morning. Me, I'd trade a handful of placydils for two darvocets, which tells you where they are on my values chart...I gotta get out of here ;-)

Well damn it sounds pretty nice orally then. I'm surprised it got taken off the market so late (1999) if it felt that strong. Because at that time they weren't prescribing barbiturates that strong anymore normally.

Woah I just noticed this looks like a 10 mg Opana ER.
