Im new to IV and still avoid it....sometimes.

But my problem is I make sure there is no air inside the rig. Then when I hit a vien and flag with blood a fuckin little bubble appears inside the rig. This happens everytime, so I never finish the shot leaving a little behind to avoid shooting that bubble.

A friend said this was the negative pressure in my viens, but he doesnt know.

Anyone?

It's not a problem at all and a tiny bubble isn't dangerous to you. Some people intentionally leave 0.2 - 0.3 ml (20 or 30 units in an insulin syringe) of air at the plunger side of the syringe so that they can push the last little bit of dope through the rig. Even if you injected a bubble, you would be fine, it takes a few ml (entire insulin SYRINGE-fulls) before you have to start worrying about it. Any air you can avoid is good, but don't stress yourself out over a tiny bubble! If you've ever been in the hospital and had an iv, you would see lots of bubbles running through the line only harmful in large amounts.

True, a smalll bubble is not going to cause an emboli or any other serious problems. Still it' s best to tap your tool and get all the air out that you can, the bubble you see when you pull back is okay.

As uncle Bill say's in junky if air bubbles killed there wouldn't be a junky left alive.Obviously get as much air out as possible, but don't worry about small bubbles.

Nick's got it pretty much nail on the head so to speak. I don't shoot personally, but my buddies that do agree with that, Nick. That's a good point man.
