God damnit, I had this little bit of hope in the back of my mind that it was junky lore or something. Not necesarily for the smack, I can take care of that if I ever move back to ye ol Mexico. But for everything else, "other" substances can be hard to come by down there.

OK, we'll all be in charge of the opiate cartel and we can pay a fee to the coke cartel for letting us set up buisness. But ye non spanish speakers will have to be down with killing a mother fucker or two, no noddin away in the corner all day. We'll have to work with speedballs by day to keep the nod off. We can all be equals an that, but we'll have to hand out titles and jobs to keep things organized. Buisness is inevitable or we'll get bored.

Let me just say that Rx's in Mexico aren't exactly that hard to come by. But no, sadly it was revealed via Nick that legalised personal possesion of Narcotics in Mexico was squashed and is not a reality.

Yeah, that Mexico thing got shot down. What I read was Bush pressured Fox, and that was end of it. I remember when it was first proposed a few months ago, I got all excited. They were close to passing law that addicts were not prosecuted, if it was for personal use. Mexico used to be o.k. for personal scripts for morphine for addicts, but that got shot down years ago when we got all Calvinistic here. Shit, you can read Burrough's experience in Mexico City, good guide to what it *used* to be like, but this lastest attempt didn't make it. Same thing they try to do here, where u don't penalize addicts. Hell, California can't even maintain the legal use of marjuana here, as feds keep overriding it. Common sense just doesn't enter into it. Would solve a whole lot of problems, but we ain't at the common sense stage yet, and I don't see it on the horizon. I'd place my bet actually more likely on Canada, as they are more inclined than Mexico to give addicts a break, and to actually buck U.S. notions of "correct" behavior. I mean at least Canada has heroin maintenance trials going on, not Mexico. And I like mexico, S.America...like DV13 I've spent a lot of time down there, speak the language. But like anybody else, financial and family reasons, shit like that, keep me up here in land of freeways and Walmart, so far anyway. I thought I'd be down at least in Mexico by now, but half my family all of a sudden "needs" me here. i don't know. I get bitter about the whole thing.

My best *guess* on Columbia, or any place south of here, is that if it's *down* there, one can find a way to obtain it. The real problem, IMO, for me, for anybody, is just first step: going down there, getting established, taking a little time, find out what's going on. No guided tours available. It's not that it's legal so much, just that there are ways around the legal prohibitions. Just like there are here, if you have enough money. I mean, Elvis, various Kennedys over the years, you got the bucks, you can get a doc, get what you want *here*. Seems to me it just takes a lot *less* money down south to be "wealthy" and to circumvent legal system. On the other hand, if you *do* get crossways with the law down there, you'll have less rights and certainly don't want to get in the middle of anything heavy, legal or illegal. Problem with, say, Mexico for example, is that small fry might get sold down the river and busted, so that big fry don't get noticed as much.

That should work. If anyone shows up we can just start talking about mormonism and they'll run away for sure.

Easier to live as a dope fiend in South America than in the US? No offence dude, but earning pesos in a non-existent job isn't going to buy you much dope (if you can find any, assuming you speak spanish). The US is Junky heaven. Good paying jobs and junk everywhere. If you can't hack it in the dope game here, you'll not make it down there.

It's the other asspects of life that I enjoy about South America (Argentina in particular). Dope is everywhere an anywhere throughout the world, but being as how people have money here in the US, there's lots of it here. Not a good reason alone honestly to be movin down there. Even if dope were overflowin, how you gonna buy food if you don't speak spanish? Or get a job (assuming there were jobs to be had in S. America)?

The US sucks in a lot of ways, but I sure am glad every morning when I wake up and my toilet flushes on it's own. I love South America, but it sure be a different land that's for sure. I deffinetly appreciate a lot more all the things we often times take for granted here. I may move back down yander one day, I'm still undecided. But that sort of life isn't for many.

I don't know but if this is true and if they ever increase the legal amount to say 1 gram (pure) at a time or more this would not solve the so-called illegal immigration problem but we'd probably start seeing nice white faces (and black and everyone else too) scampering over the fence/river! Fuck "security fences"...legal H in Mexico...that's the answer!
