Does going off Clonidine give you withdrawals. I have been getting vertigo since I went off it Cold Turkey last week, it appears to be getting better but when I awake in the morning for a few hours I get this weird like feeling, hard to explain. I take a Hydro and feel better in a couple hours. I have been off my hyros for a few months and olnly take maybe 2 to 3 pd 10/325. Am I going through mini withdrawals or what???

Thanks

Did you get the clonodine from an OP? If you didn't, your doc should've had a regimen to reduce the dosage and take you off that way. If you did, LOOK UP clinical trials and get a feel for how to get your ass off of it.

Clonidine can be useful for opiate withdrawls and other things. But like many other drugs, abusive or not, it has WD's associated with it. Be careful!

It's primary use is for high blood pressure and I have been on it for over a year.
The only problem associated with it after long term use is rebound on your blood pressure.
I can feel my increase in blood pressure with that nasty back of the head/neck headache but other than that I have never experienced withdrawl per say.

Take care,

There is no withdrawal syndrome associated with Clonidine, although it can cause some rebound blood pressure increases upon abrupt discontinuation of use. But you won't have a withdrawal like with opiates or anything from it.

They use Clonidine extensively as a detox aid for people coming off opiates. Good stuff.
