Has anyone ever tried alpha or beta prodine? Anesthesiologists use it in conjunction with other compounds to put you under.

seems to be related to merepidine, quicker acting at onset, overall length of effect is shorter.........at first I thought it looked similiar to the ketamine molecule..I have never heard of this one before.

yes... it is interesting how similar these compounds are to the arylcyclohexylamines (ketamine and PCP). These receptors' structural features must be very closely related. Perhaps these receptors evolved together.
Prodine I think is about 10x morphine and allylprodine (check the avatar) is maybe 100x?? I am not sure about these numbers. Allyl prodine was placed in Schedule I in almost every country in the world probably for fear that it would leak out into the public. I am not aware of any cases where people used allylprodine recreationally. These compounds are the reverse ester of meperidine (oxygen is bound to piperidine ring in this case). The des-methyl derivative of prodine is what some foolish adventurer tried to synthesize years ago and unfortunately ended up with MPTP as a byproduct.
