OK right inside the forearm (you know the other side of the elbow) I've got tracks on both arms. I've only been shooting for two weeks; question is this: how long do I need to give veins time to heal? Also; is there another spot I can use that works well? The arms just are getting sore; the tracks are there; I need a break. I'm going to snort for a while, but how long does that shit usually take to heal>? Any safe s. tips would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I never really go out of my way to let them heal. I kind of just shoot whenever I want to. It forms more of a scar than a cut, you know? It's good to take a break every once in a while. I really only shoot up on weekends and that seems to be working for me. If you can avoid shooting up you should. Keeping it to a minimum is key, because it makes iving that much better you know? But really, physically, you can really do it as much as you want.

Alcohol pads are also key.

15 years everyday in my hands.Watch out it can be painful(till the dope kicks in ) I wouldn't recommend you start on your hand till you've used up all the veins in your arms.Try half way between wrist and elbow.
The time it takes for veins to come back depends on how badly you've damaged them. Some of my veins are "dead" which means they're finished for IV use.I'm clean now and I'll let you know if they come back.
The link Kyuss the poet and Candy sent is great.I suggest you check it out.

^^ all good advice. Pay particular attention to rotating those sites. Scar tissue will eventually form if you don't and you will lose the vein.

There is a great vein ( they call it the intern's vein) because pretty easy to find, about 1-2 inches below the thumb on the inside of your wrist.

Of course you should also have great antecubital veins ( in the crook of your elbow) Should be able to see them, Warm compresses to raise the viens and some sort of ointment to heal the ones you've alraedy abused go a long way.

This is now becoming regurgitation of what is in the link, but you get the idea. Good luck and treat those veins with the proper respect they deserve. Sucks to abuse them and have them become inaccesible when u truly need them. Then you gotta start going places that aren't nec safe or easy. Good luck

DEAD VEINS?!? Now I'm scarred... I have some scar tissue on the veins I've been u/abusing, but onlyevery day for two weeks! How do I know if they are "dead"? And what's this internvein 16 seconds? 16 secondsto draw blood or 16 seconds to feel it?

I don't know: couple of "weekend" coke runs ruined both my "ditches." All the above advice is good. what probably also did a lot of damage was that, when I'm needing to fix, I don't really think a lot about what's good for the future. I tend just to want to get right. So no matter what my overall intentions are, I would usually go for the vein that was biggest, easiest, quickest, which also meant I would use the same ones over and over until they were gone. Rotating around is obviously the best thing. But again, it's almost academic, because if I'm getting ready to fix, I don't usually worry too much about what is best for me. My three main veins, once they were gone, never did come back, and nurses, me, nobody, has ever seen'em since. that's why in old days, burntout old junkies would often *have* to have someone else hit them, in exchange for a wet cotton or something, and often would have to get hit in the jugular vein...'cuz there just wasn't nothin' left. This is usually after u go thru countless agonizing stabs for years in the top of hand, ankles, wrist, dick...anywhere...but after a while, those too get gone. Part of the deal.

"Dead" means that they're gone and will, presumably, never come back. I don't know what the 16-seconds thing is, but if you do use that "intern vein" on your wrist, be careful, because I've found that it's very easy to hit a nerve in that area, or poke the bone even, which is by no means a pleasant experience!

Oh, and even if you rotate injection sites, scar tissue will eventually form.

Yeah- shooting coke seems to kill veins. I had a great vein in my forearm. I used H in it maybe 3 or 4 times, never missed a drop. One day I did some coke in there, hit every last molecule and it hasn't worked since!! I've tried tying off, flexing, squeezing a rubber ball for like 30 minutes, doing push ups, you name it!!! It's just gone. Sometimes, I can see it, but can't hit it at all. Anyway- I used the big vein that runs from the shoulder down into the elbow (the bicep vein) for YEARS before it finally died... it was bigger around than a pencil and didn't roll.... I miss those days:(

Me too, bro, me too. I remember when I was a youngster, and had these big old veins, and I'd kind of highside it over the oldtimers who had to fiddle around. I thought it was some kind of *accomplishment* to have good veins. They just basically told me wait and see, wait and see....yup, they were right. but again, mine did hold up pretty good until a couple of 2 day coke runs....u know coke, if u got a bunch of it, one does tend to "overindulge" and it was all over s. Louisiana in those days. boom town and all that.

I always intend to be more careful, but u know, once dope's in hand, it's easy to think tomorrow never comes and all that. And it's been years since I've fixed coke...but in the day whooo boy....and I always said it wasn't my drug of choice...but that never kept me from pigging out on it when it was around lol....seen that fried sun come up many a morning...when I'd die for a dilaudid.

Interns vein: usually the easist to hit for those inexperienced in IV's..ie:interns

16 seconds: the amount of time it takes to feel the efects of whatever is injected there.

if you are getting clean hits and not missing or hitting muscle, shooting up to 5 or 6 times a day still should not cause "Soreness" the ONLY times my arms get sore from shooting, no matter how much, is the day after a miss, and when i miss (about 1 out of 100 shots) its usually only about 1/10th of a shot.

but taking a break to let your arms heal is a great idea- thumbs up :)
