It sure seems like we have a lot of Ohio junkies. I am from the Canton area, but work in Youngstown as a supervisor for a large fortune 1000 company. I do about 8-12 bags a day and buy 6 for 100 of good quality. I am still looking to run into the white fent dope again it hasn't been around for at least 3 months. I do about 3-4 diffrent kinds a week and support my gorilla through my crazy poker skills (average about 1-2k a week). What I was wondering is what is the scene like in the following cities? Akron, Cleveland, and Youngstown? I have worked over in Ytown for 5 years and never scored here only in Canton. The functioning junky

I lived up in Columbus OH a few years back, and seemed like I was always getting that fentanyl white dope over on east side in a shooting gallery in the hood. I was all right with it, but I know a lot of guys didn't like it, said it was a burn or something...they must have had something better before my time. They'ed always *do* it, just talked bad about it. But that was the one place, in my whole junky career, where I ran across a doc who offered me dilaudids for some lightweight pain. I couldn't believe it. He had given me some percocets for a liver biopsy, and liver pain, of all things: I had hepC...and out of habit the next time I saw him, I said, nah, they weren't working, but I'm still in pain. and he says: "have you ever tried dilaudids for pain..." I don't know how i kept a straight face. Lasted four months, that "pain." Some young resident always gave me the fisheye, he didn't buy it, and finally talked doc out of it. Of course, it also took me from great job and all kinds of other good shit, to trashing around the mdone clinic looking for some smack, heading back to Texas out of desperation, ending up all strung out down in Corpus Christi....but oh well, junkylife: bad crazy and glum, or happy happy :=_

This is the fourth or fifth reference I've seen on the net about the east side being THE place to get dope in C-town. And here I am dicking around on the North and West sides (North side is the new location of the mdone clinic in town, just outside campus, and very hairy popo-wise). Sigh, if only I liked crack as much as I like dope.

I was recently scoping out the north side in a half-drunken state (yah yah I know), made a left turn on a one way street (which I would have done drunk or not). Wouldn't you know it, I'm facing TWO cop cars, both flick on their sirens and pull me over. Goddamn those guys are assholes (think straight from the marines into the police force kind of people). They kept asking me all these questions, and finally took off. If I wasn't a clean-shaven white boy with a high and tight haircut, I'd be in jail right now. Shit, I hate this fuc&king town.

And no dice with the mdone clinic. Very, very, very hush hush, and now I see a cop car hanging outside the building ever morning. I guess their catching on (?).

Yeah, I think that's happening everywhere, and my experiences up in Columbus were almost ten years ago. Then they had that really raggedy mdone clinic--free, like most of'em--that was like an inner city jail or something, surrounded by guys obviously on the hustle. And I forget *where* on the eastside it was//near the middle of town, somewhere...you know, I just did yellow pages thing, under alcoholism or something, until I saw the magic words "methadone" in the add, or page, or something. . I actually lived up there in Dublin, right by the loop, and just headed s'east until, I forget "5th" maybe, and got off, when I finally knew of where to score. Rundown kind of old neighborhood--aren't they always?

But back in the day, before the private clinics, when nobody really gave a fuck, mdone clinics--like this one--were great places for an out of town junky--like me--to find somebody. I was kicking D's, really sick, in the middle of snowy-ass ohio winter, and drove down to clinic, just on hope, and within a few minutes, just looking around like sick junky I was, I had found a guy, who knew a guy--right there--who had little papers, and a rig, for sale. Same thing I found in Texas, Calif, free mdone clinics were drifting junkies first stopping place...

But after I started going to his house, *also* on east side, I had to buy a pistol, because--as u noted-*crack* ruled, and I needed a gun, just to feel safe enough to walk the block I had to walk, to get my dope...as young crackheads were notorious for robbing junkies looking to get to *our* dopehouse.

Yeah, old days. Now they make a buck off private clinics, there is money in keeping the shit I really want illegal. And there's even more money in buprenorphine, so...oh well, I'm starting on rant...all the best...

Yep, same with me. I live in Dublin (stones throw from sawmill rd), make my way to the city either for classes, or to get myself "schooled", if you know what I mean. A couple weeks ago, hanging around Bryden Rd (just for kicks :)), I was approached by a guy asking me for some cigarettes. As he goes to leave, I "pop the question", and he tells me he can show me if I let him in my car. Without getting into too many details, big mistake. Never let people into your car. Sometimes I think either God hates me or he absolutely loves me, cause that was not a pretty situation, and somehow I got out of it. I should also say that I did have an affinity for the rock, which gave me a decent understanding of the streets, but that shit is everywhere. And yes, the mdone clinic situation is very different now. I just got bad vibes there. You know its not the best place when you ask people leaving the clinic and they look at you with wide eyed amazment (You want WHAT?!) My next tactic: make use of those really annoying homeless people on High Street (campus area). Maybe their "smarter" than I think they are? Probably not...

Sometimes I have to laugh, considering how many sinking ships I've escaped from. I guess the search is just as fun as the score...
