Is it possible to take opiates and still get high/feel euphoria while on Suboxone? If so, how?

not really. be very careful when switching from opiates TO burpenorphine, give plenty of time for the opiates to start clearing your system, wait for definite withdrawl signs or you may expereince some very serious pain. the only opiate that I could feel while on bup was salvinorin a.

I switch back and forth a lot. But I use small dose of bupe. About 4mg a day. When I hit a crisis migraine and I need to take Morph, it works if 12 to 14 hours have passed.

Depends on the dosage, frequency of dosing, and personal metabolism...

Usually to feel the effects of heroin after the use of bupe I need a min. of 24 hours. To truly get high its best if I wait 36-48 hours untill the bupe is out of my system and finished blocking my receptors.

If I am taking nasal doses of bupe in the 1-2mg range its alot easier to break thru the bupe antagonist blocking effects at around 24 hours but I have to shoot double to triple the dope I would normal shoot. 24-32mgs well 48 hours is a good mark, D'oh.

Now I see why I got a much better buzz back when I first relapsed for the first time since I was on bupe, back this year I was on 4mg suboxone a day, one 2mg pill at afternoon and then another at after supper. I was able to stand by for 24 hours in wd until I got too uncomfortable, then I took vicodin 10/500 and got fairly buzzed and then had to take only 3 more in an hour all at once to get almost the same buzz I used to get. That was not many pills to me because I was used to taking 7-8 vicodins all at once before. However the tolerance grew fast in two days and I was back to my normal dose again. I guess suboxone has the same high blockage to other opiates as methadone because now I"m taking 3 8mg subs daily and if I go back on vicodin now, I dont get much out of them if I wait the same 24hours now. Glad I know that now so next time I get some goodies the only bad part will be the painful 48 hours of wd off the subs so that I can rush to the wonderful watsons and fill up them receptors and really get buzzed again. Lol I wish I had a constant morphine prescription, maybe one day I'll get in an accident the way people drive around here lol and not only will I get a big settlement but I'll also have some wonderful morphine. Wow that would be a dream come true, to anxiously walk into the pharmacy with a nice big morphine script, trying to keep a grin off my face all the time just waiting to rush home to swallow one instantly. I remember back when I had my major surgery and was just an alcoholic once a month binger. I knew nothing about opiates and strange thing, after I enjoyed that lovely morphine pump for a week, they were cutting my dose down I remember. Then when it came time for me to go home, they sent me home with just darvocet. I started wd'ing that night and didn't even know what I was going through, took some darvocet and it made me feel worse and have a strange buzzing sound in my ear. Next day I felt faint and almost passed out and had to be rushed to the hospital, they did a blood test on me and everything was so strange they had to admit me, the nurse told me I was now addicted to the morph and gave me clonidine and said I might have to go to a methadone clinic. I didn't even know what that meant back then, I just wanted to be out of the hospital I was so bored. Strangely I was able to barely get through it and kept taking the darvocet. If I had that to do over again and I knew then what I know now, I would have complained so bad about the pain getting worse so they could have at least switched me to vicodin. Can someone switch from morphine to vicodin? I think back about that time and wonder why they sent me home with the lamest opiate out there? I know nothing about nursing etc, but would I have been able to be switched to something better if they weren't going to send me home with morphine? gee it ticks me off the way the Us is so anti drug. I remember the nurse back then telling me about opiates a little bit, and how they are trying to almost completely do away with them. Back then I didn't think much about it, but now it scares the hell outta me. Opiates are the only drug that helps my depression best and if they ever do away with em I'll "pull the plug" long before I'll go back to pain and suffering all day like I was two years ago before I kicked the bottle outta my life and found opium through my buddy vicodin.
