yeah
I watched it
for about an hour
just turned it to
sanford and son.
If they had played
all the original music
instead of putting in
the generic stuff,
I probably wouldn't have
turned it.
Christian Bale
is great tho,
loved him in The Machinist.

No but for some reason it sound very familar, Greg the bunny....?
No I was thinking of Hoppy the frog, he was a singer/guitarist in philly that would wear a green frog suit up on stage and rock out....really pretty good.

I flipped over to it like half way through the movie.

Any place that has the Henry Rollins show is 100% pucker!!!

Can't wait until next season, I only wish they were longer, the interveiw he did w/ Oliver Stone was fantastic

Did you guys see that flic "I am a sex addict" or something like that. Real skinny funny looking guy who is obsessed with hookers. Talk about a real life pimp, I'd make a documentary / comedy about myself if I were that guy too, lol. That was a funny movie. It was on IFC.

I vaguely
remember that.
I love when
they show Werner Herzog
movies with Klaus Kinski.
They showed a movie
all about Kinski called
My Best Fiend-
it was wicked as hell.

Love T-rex, that was white electric funk, fuzz boxed guitar, hell plug it straight into the board; hitting those notes sooo late it was almost off time. What a groove though. I lost all of my music I collected from a kid till when I lost it at 24, all I have now is a greatest hits CD, still want E. W. back loved that LP. Man I still dream about all those records and tapes AND 8 tracks I lost - had to be 500 tapes, 200 lp's and 80 8 tracks.....:(

ZK

It's a fictional movie
of glam england in the 70's
with Christian Bale
and Ewan McGregor
playing generic Bowie's and Iggy's.

Never seen Dogs In Space,
but I used to love
Pigs In Space
from the Muppet Show

Not if you make a legitimate attempt to find it and cannot.....plus, I don't have a problem with a little music trading now and then. It's kinda like back in the old days when one of us would make a cassette copy of a new Sabbath or Priest record for another one of us to enjoy who was perhaps broke or whatever.

It's the guys who download thousands of albums and never buy one, ever, that I take issue with. I mean, nowadays, with soooo many fucking new bands coming out every day, even I will allow my one friend to burn me a copy of something I'm interested in; if I like it, I will buy the legal version (always, I shit you not....), and if I don't like it, I return the burn to him....

"Return the Burn". That sounds like a new anti-piracy slogan. I should license that to Lars Ulrich....

^^ honestly that's just how it should be. If the MPAA would drop all these dumb ass lawsuits against the 70 year old ladies dead husband I'd HONESTLY buy more albums than I do now. But as it is, I try to stick to concerts and t-shirts to make sure the band is actually getting my money, and not the record execs. I hate those bastards.

I loved that show.

Velvet Goldmine was pretty good, I was amazed I'd never heard of it too, it's not a big buget thing but should have gotten a write up or two.....gotta love the britts playing americans....and it's got Eddie Izzard in it, one of the funny fucks I've seen in yrs.

And I was thinking about downloading ZK, think about how long it took me to amass all those tapes, and today fuckers get that in an hour online!!

I get those channels, and I was watching Velvet Goldmine, but then I saw they were showing "History of Violence" on HBO, and I *had* to see that again. I love that movie. I mean I don't have any kind of serious tough past like *that* guy did. But I damn sure know the feeling of going somewhere new, and thinking you have escaped your past, and now are a "good" boy, only to have it catch up with you again. I had been going thru that the last six months. First three years out here, all anybody knew about me was that I was good big wave bodysurfer, not *one* of my friends out here is a dope fiend and then in june I ran into a bunch of dilaudid shots in the hospital and have been strung out ever since. And I came all the way from Florida to Cali to escape....but there's no escape, I know that...it's a built in thing. what was I thinking. I'm seriously considering going and getting my ex-girlfriend who just got out of prison in Louisiana and giving it one last run. Fuck, it never ends. How old do you got to be to *retire* from the vida loca? I thought it was over at *thirty* for crying out loud and that was twenty-five fucking years ago!!!

Anyway, if you'all haven't seen "History of Violence," w/Viggo Mortensen and Maria Bello...yah gotta see it,, good flick. Now I'm watchin' Thief w/James Caan which is also a good older flick...out of the corner of my eye...

Man I'm sniveling, don't pay no attention. I think it's these damn subs.

I cannot believe you guys haven't seen Dogs In Space. It's based on a true story about the Melbourne punk-rock scene with Michael Hutchence (INXS, duh...) in the lead role as Sam, the lead singer of the band the movie is titled after. You guys need to see this movie. Just thinking about the heroin overdose scene at the end gives me the shivers. I still have the soundtrack on cassette (I've heard rumor that it will be re-released---I can only hope), and it's great, too: Iggy Pop, Birthday Party, lots of great stuff---must dig it out now!...

Anyways, this movie's got it all---good music, lots of drug use, great story (and true...). I just looked for it on DVD on Amazon, and there is one used copy for $259.00, so maybe you won't be able to see it anytime soon. I have my copy on VHS that I bought back in the 80s when it came out. I read on IMDb that it hasn't been released in NTSC format yet. Hopefully it will soon. You guys all need to see this movie.....

Sorry to de-rail your original thread Alow....please forgive me, but I've actually been meaning to post about this flick for some time now.....

It was free from Gateway, when I worked there, you rack up points for how much the store sold, even if I wasn't in sale, then you could redeem them for stuff, I got a All Clad cook set NICE and that VHS/DVD, then on april 1st (yes you got it - the 1st) we whole company got an email from the heads at be that said your all laid off.... all 4500 of ya and all your jobs go to India. Oh well, we also got a 42" plasma for $33 and SO much more, we looted the place!!:D

Isn't Gateway pretty much history now? haven't heard anything about them in a long time....

Heres the deal, some insider info, Gateway had all the Counrty stores where you can go and look and buy and take home a system, also had service centers too. Well there is a ceiling to the profits w/ the store, they can only gross so much then it's a plateau for the green income. In the early days we had people quit their jods as lawyers and such and GET RICH selling computer, you got x amount on each one you sold, well they changed that fast!!
So, E-machines had like 50 employee and gross as much as Gateway but didn't spend a 1/32 of what we did, so they founder of Gateway, Ted (I think been a long time), wanted to go to that business model, so they shipped all support and serives jobs over seas, closed all the Country stores, fired the ENTIRE Gateway corporate structure and moved the E-machine people in - the two companies are on one, like HP & Compaq, now the systems are made in MX (if you took one system from back then and one from now, the new ones are made of tin foil, SO CHEAP, they break on the way to your house in shipping - really they do. And moved all the sales to phone, online, and in places like best buy, CompI-DON'T-KNOW, sorry CompUSA, Walmart, etc. They laid off more then 4000 people and all for getting the already dirty rich richer. The fact that they sacked the whole Gateway corporate structure (most of them got 6 figures in lay-off funds) for the handful of low paid E-machine executives and sent ALL jobs over seas because the money Ted was getting wasn't enough to pass Mike Dell.

Our GM got 5 DLP tv's, I got the plasma and a sheit load of computers, laptops and other stuff, I mean everystore did the same thing, no one cared, they said you won't get your severance if your store is missing stuff......yeah try it.
*Not mention all the stuff we got during the time it was open...:D we would send our friends flat panels in the mail, laptops from weed, every employee in every store had a business on the side, from the cleaners to the GM's (maybe that's why they closed:o ).
Oh do I have other stories; Rick Wakeman came in, he had a show and his laptop got dropped, and he needed some things off the harddrive for the show, got two back stage pass' to the show from him for it. Cool guy, I asked him about working w/ black sabbath.
Loads of sports stars, who doesn't have a computer now a day's ya know.....

*But of course I never did any of this employee theft stuff, that's wrong and I don't condone what my other mates did or did I help, employee theft is wrong.

I've never seen the movie, but I must say that Christian Bale is oh so yummy. He was hot in American Psycho. Loved it.

I'll have to look into seeing this movie though. I want to see Candy, which is comeing out soon I think, or maybe it's already out. It's just another typical heroin movie about an artist guy who gest his girlfriend hooked on H when she tries it for the first time with him, then I think she ends up prostituting herself to support his and her habbit. Now, that's true love.

My all-time fave H films, though, are Trainspotting and High Art.
