Music while on drugs is great. Especially acid. Music without drugs is great, just not as intense. If it was to be a forever thing, I would have to choose music. Music generally doesn't fuck up your life after you have been doing it a while. But neither does acid or weed (neither of which I do anymore). Stims and opies eventually lead to bad places for me. If it were a temporary choice I would DEFINITELY take drugs. But since I don't follow rules very well, I would probably then turn on some music. Especially if the drug was acid. . .maybe a little Dark Side of the Moon or Animals or something. If the drug was coke, I would not turn on any music. I would be too paranoid. If the drug was dope, I would have to put on some Miles Davis or something like that. Fuck it, I'd put on Soundgarden.
I would always choose sex above all else.
I wish I had acid.
I like music.
Bye.
You guys are crazy IMO. Drugs above sex and music and apparently having money.

Ouch, that is a painful question. Music is my passion but would I enjoy it without drugs? I have songs in my head and you can't take that away from me. So I pick drugs, and I'll just hum or sing to myself. :p

I agree. The music never really stops in my head, It's the voices that bother me.

I love music, But I dont think If in the right state of mind would choose music because, I dont think we as humans can live (comfortably) without drugs, music is a form of expression where as drugs are apart of life.

Drugs! It seemed like a difficult decision for a minute but then it came to me. No doubt about it.

fuck that shit - music, hands down... I've experienced many a hangoverless buzz with music... besides, without taking away from the obviously pleasurable benefits of drugs, I am of the mindset that the goal of every psychonaut and opiadventurer should be to eventually achieve sober highs that outdo being inebriated...
i mean the high is in your head... the drugs trigger reactions of chemicals that are all there already.. we all know we get natural highs... shit I used to get high as i pulled the plunger back and saw the blood flower bloom in the chamber, and then the hit would just pull that further apart...
its possible, just takes a crazy motherfucker to make it work

Without the use of LSD, I don't know where I'd be in regards to my musical taste. Grateful Dead would make no sense. I would jump on the Ted Nugent republican band wagon. The Rock Against Drugs campaign would've made more sense and I wouldve thought those musicians rocked. I wouldn't never graduated from the Beatles I Wanna Hold Your Hand days. Sgt. Peppers, or the White Album or Yellow Submarine might not have a place in my heart. The journey through any of Pink Floyd's albums would have had a different feel.
If it wasn't for the combination of drugs (specifically psychedelics) and music, it's safe to say I'd pick music, but I'd prlly be listening to John Tesh, David Hasselhoff, and maybe a little bit of Yanni right about now. Does it get any better than Hasselhoff doing Hooked on a Feeling? I think not.

Only read the 1st post, & I would say drugs, because w/ that I have all the music I could ever want in my head.
Can't have it the other way around.

Pink Floyd while eating acid is definitely a moving experience. It is incredible how they can change the whole feel to the trip and pull your emotions around so much just by easing from one song to another. I love music, and would keep music if I had to choose only one, but the lsd/music experience is something that I would not want to do without.

Animals, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and of course Dark Side of the Moon could always take me to that place in my mind while I acid, where I could get completely lost in the music and truly explore my mind, feeling like I was in between being asleep and awake. There is nothing like that journey. They still couldn't drop me off in left field and leave me wondering where the hell I was like the Grateful Dead though.

Never made it to a Dead show while Jerry was still alive (I guess that means I never made it to a dead show. . .) but I have listened to many old bootlegs while exploring the depths of my mind.
I miss those days!

In general, I'd say music. But if I were to choose right now, I'd say drugs, just because if I chose music I'd be stuck in withdrawls. Plus, I listen to NPR and audio books more than music right now.

Music and Drugs do go hand in hand
Floyd and Phish without acid at least a couple times to let you really into their stuff=not the same
Electronic without XTC= same exact feeling, you need it at least a couple times
I would hate life more in the long run without music though, my vote goes to MUSIC!!!
Dope, but I'd really miss the music.

I told you it was NOT MY FAULT.
If you were here more of the day,
It wouldn't twist around that way"
I'll have to second that. God I miss the disco out in the parking lot. Here's some of my favorite acid I came across in Oswego. The Dancing Prophylactics!

Jerry Garcia chose both and the strain of a lifelong journey IN BOTH AREAS took his life, his soul...
"The wheel is turning, you can't slow down...
you can't let go and you can't hold on
you can't go back and you can't stand still
IF THE THUNDER DON'T GET 'YA then the LIGHTNING WILL!"

The big wheel turns by the grace of God
and everytime that wheel turns `round,
you're bound to cover just a LITTLE MORE GROUND!"

Awesome site. The first acid I ever did was Bart Simpson, I don't see that on there. Then it was beavis and butthead, that one is there. Lots of memories there. I didn't know if anybody else ever noticed blahblahblah's avatar or not. That's oldskool. Not as oldskool as DD with owsley stories or anything, but oldskool nonetheless. I've had the inclination to trip on some good L again lately. I might just have to for new years. It's been almost 7 years for me. I've had my share of RC's since then, but they are not good 'ol trusty family crystal. No comparison.
L directly influenced my taste in music. I can still listen to from A-Z, but I will always prefer funk, and especially improvisional type music, because of my L experiences. I wish Phish would stop fucking around and get back together already. I haven't been back to Deer Creek since they decided to call it quits. That particular venue has always been a favorite of mine, I've been to a shit load and haven't found one with better sound yet. You haven't heard anything until you've heard Mike sing Emotional Rescue or gotten your first Sneakin Sally Through the Alley.
