Needle of choice?

Just curious what ya'll are using. Different people find different comfort with....you guessed it...different syringes..... so what's your choice? I like the lower guages, but I've "settled" with 30 guage 1cc "insulin" needles. I can't really remember the manufacturer and I'm too lazy to go look.

It's not so much a question of preference... atleast it shouldn't be. What gauge and needle length or CC capacity is going to vary quite a bit regarding what you plan on shooting, where you plan on putting it (i.e. vein size/depth), and how much solvent it is going to take to dissolve your drug in. Right now I am using BD 3ml and 5ml 25G 1in needle. It suits my need just fine because I am currently using the crest of my arm the most that are still in great enough shape to take the larger gauge needle and the barrel size is preferrable because lately I have been shooting pills and need more than 1cc to load it all in one shot. With smaller veins you are going to want to use a bigger gauge and not inject anything that could potentially cause damage them (i.e. don't try shooting tar in your finger veins). And the deeper the vein you are trying to hit obviously the longer the needle you are going to need to pull it off. Like I said, what rig would be best for each shot is going to depend alot on the shot, not personal prefference.

I always use 29 guage 1cc longs, only because it seems that 30 gauge are never available at the pharmacies i goto.

I just got a package of 100 BD Ultra-Fine II 1cc 31 guage 1/2 inch (actually I think it's technically 5/8ths of an inch) insulin syringes. I ordered them online for what I feel like is a reasonable price. They came in the original BD box, packaged in sealed packs of 10 of course, and they even came with a pamphlet on safe shooting (for those ignorant diabetics I'm sure...just a joke).

Anyway, that's what I'm using now. Actually, I'm not using them now, because I have nothing to use them with. Actually, I also sent someone we all care about 50 of them because they introduced me to them. Before that, I had been using the 1cc BD Ultra-Fine 28 guage 1 inch points, but not only did they hurt, but they also made me miss alot. I've got really really tiny girly veins. I'm so jealous of those guys who have veins that just seem to bulge in their arms. Mine are small and deep. It sucks. So, using the 31's are easier for me because it's harder to miss, and because it's easier to use the veins in my feet and hands, which are also really small (well, some of my feet veins aren't), but still, I now use and prefer the 31's. They just slide in with no problem at all, and also no pain :-)

If you go to a pharmacy, you go to the pharmacy desk and ask for what you want. Some won't do it though if they're suspicious, and some states make it illegal. You definately have to know what you want. I mean, don't go in asking for just syringes, because then they'll know something's up. Just say you want a pack of 1cc insulin syringes. You don't necessarily need to mention the ultra-fine or BD (or other manufacturer) of needle length. If they do it for you, they'll ask you what length you want. Also, it sort of helps to look like an upstanding citizen (dress nicely, but not too nice). I mean, don't look grungy and wearing short sleeves with tracks up and down your arm. That'll get you, "do you have a prescription? Because we only give those to people with prescriptions. Or, and this is probably the best and easiest way to do it, is to order online. There are several medical supply companies on the net that sell all sorts of points. You can order directly from BD by calling, or you can order from a diabetes testing supply company.

My only concern with this is that, like you said, you're a newbie, which is fine, but do at least research a bit about what you're potentially going to do. I mean, learn how to shoot safely, and know what kind of needle you need. Like someone else said, different drugs need more water, so you may need more than 1 cc. And, if you've got smaller veins, then larger guages are usually easier and make it harder to miss. Just be careful and learn. Know what to do if you miss, as that's probably going to happen if you've not done this before. Actually, I'd practice first if I were you. Get some sterile saline solution at the store, and just practice with that. Then, when you feel comfortable, do the real thing. Just trying to help you out by making sure you're safe. Also, heroinhelper is a good site. Check it out. It does a good job at explaining the safe shooting methods. Harmreduction.org does too. Or, just continue to ask questions.

I'm with you Chem. BD 3ml 25ga/ 1 1/4". Enough room for anything you need to put in 'em, plus I use them for IM (only for stuff that is made for IM. . .No pills) so they need to be nice and long.

Oh man, put me on the spot. Hahahaha. Like I said, lately I have been shooting pills... alot of pills. I am currently battling a hellacious tolerance so the Opaite part of the shot alone is going to require more than a CC and lately I have been mixing and matching and speedballing with pharm amps and rits, so yeah... I need atleast a 3ml and embarrassingly sometimes a 5ml rig. I've graduated from spoon to ladle.

he was with me in the room a minute ago... he's kind of a "friend" and my only decent dope connect in cleveland... but this fucking kid... everytime I go to cop... he fucking always makes me give him like half PLUS I know he's sneaking a few bags when he takes MY money to cop...and it's ALWAYS "i'll hit you back.. I'll take care of you when I get paid.." yeah right,....for every 5 days I get him low (5 packs a day for EACH OF US my dime always)... he'll buy 1/2 a bin. on the SIXTH day... and here's the thing..yesterday he took some of my h money...couldn't find h so he bought CRACK...now get this! It was like 330 in the AM last night and this kid had 8 60 mg morphine pills... he gave them ALL to me because he (of course) can't fucking drive and he came down from the ri--zzock so bad last night so I told him give `em ALL to me and I'll drive you to the ghet... fuck him he's comming back in here I gotta go... more vent on this asshole later...one day soon I will steal his connect... I may be a worthless junkie but I work for what I get...he just leeches... I hate fuckers like him but I have to make nice cuz' IF I DON'T I loose my one consistant close H hookup.. oh fucking well.

I usually use whatever rig is sitting around.. as long as there isn't too much blood left from the last user. BUT, I rinse them fully with water, so they are clean enough. I personally like when my freinds leave the 3 cc ones at my house, since I shoot lots of non-bangable pills, but I'm not picky.

Yeah, I can definitely relate to that, not with H, but with coke. I had a friend in Cincy who had a great coke connect. Excellent shit, and a gram was $50. So, sometimes I'd tell this friend to go het a few grams, and I'd share some with him for hooking me up with the connect. I mean, what I meant was, I'll give you the money, you get the shit, and I"ll do lines with you and get you high. What he always understood it to mean was that he'd get half of the shit. That pissed me off to no extent. I really don't mind sharing with friends, but my god, coke is expensive, and I rarely do it because I just don't have that kind of money, and if I'm spending money to buy a ball, I at least expect to be able to get enough for the night and some for later, but now, I have to end up doing the entire thing with him. I hate that, and I hate that type of thing. So I feel for your situation. 1/2cc, U-100, 29guage (maybe 28...). Brand name is BD. Blue and white bag with bright orange tips. And of course, long needle. A Bag-o-ten points is $5.00 after tax. A box of 100 runs about $32 or so.
In my town, some pharmacies sell 'em no questions asked. Some will say they only have short needle as to keep 'us' away. Others will refuse sale w/o an insulin prescription or a call to your doctor. And yet other will ask you all sorts of questions: "What type of insulin do you use? Where do you inject? How often? What type of diabetes: A or B?" etc, etc. Luckily, my wife has become an diabetes EXPERT!

Heroin / Cocaine / Ketamine IV: BD Ultra Fine 1ml 30g 1/2".

Amphetamine, Ketamine IM and misc. tablets: BD Precision Glide 3ml 22g 1 1/2" ( depending where the injection spot is, i will take the 22g 1 1/2" spike out of the Luer-Lok and put in a higher gauge for say... my hands or any other smaller veins. )

I order online too, I got 300 pins (100 3 diff types) delievered to my front door for under 50 bucks, cna't be that IMO unless they are fre, but they clinic is like 1.5 hours away so............

I always use Terumo brand works, partly because they come from the needle exchange for free, and partly because I'm used to using them. For specifics;

When I was first using, 1cc 27G x 1/2" Insulin needles were the go.

Then I got a tolerance, and a full pill, or more, wouldn't dissolve properly with just a 1cc syringe. These days , I use 2.5mL, 3mL or 5mL barrels with a 19G drawing up tip (has much stronger and faster suction) and then swap that for a 27G or 29G 1/2 hypodermic tip. If I don't have any of those, need more flexibility or am using smaller veins, I use 25G - 27G 'Butterfly' Winged Infusion Sets.

All of these have Luer Lock systems, except where it's not applicable.

I also use micron (wheel) filters too.

They're the perfect gauge size, which aids in registering, the needles aren't flimsy like 30+G, and the plunger doesn't stick at all when you're depressing it.

I use the BD half inchers, for some reason the short tips are just right for me. The assholes in the pharmacy think its funny to give me the long tips everytime I ask for the short ones, maybe they know Im a junkie and find it humorous to fuck with me....who knows. Long tips just go right through my veins though, and the shorts stop right when they are in.
On a random note, the BD headquarters are three minutes away from me. Could prolly get the rigs right from them, but its easy enough to go to any of the local pharmacies. Its illegal to refuse them here, although you will still find some asshole pharmacists who think otherwise. Two bucks and some change for a ten pack, which usually comes in a bag, but sometimes its those hilarious individi-wrap ones that are all attached by the perforated edges. They are a different company, Ultra-comfort I think, or that is their name atleast. They suck ass.

I don't know about Illinois but in missouri you don't need a prescription. You can just go to the pharmacy and ask for them. Alot of times the might ask a few questions but sometimes they don't ask any questions at all.

No, all places are different...in conservative old South Dakota, I could just pick them up in the drug store, on the shelves, no problem, and in liberal tolerant southern California, where I now live, I have to go to the needle xchanges, and the van comes just twice weekly, to a couple spots for a few hrs...

But I thought fuck it, I"m a good hustler, and when I was in RiteAid here, I tried to get one from the pharmacist...and I *am* diabetic, but not on insulin, but anyway, I know the rap, and tried really hard, and he was so snotty, and told me that if I *wasn't* on his list, he could call my doctor for me, and of course, he knew what they were for, and it is so chickenshit of them...

But anyway, out here anyway, they do got lists...that's why we have to have needle xchanges...

Back in Ohio, if you've got your rap right, you can tell the pharmacist that you have HepC, and need the syringes for your medication...but out there, that doesn't work either: no list, no rig...

yea I allways go to the wallgreens & get the 1cc 29 gauge a pack of 10 will cost me 2.54 w/tax, about 4 yrs ago our govener passed the law in illinois to stop the sharing of needles that you can go to any pahrm and buy them insulin needles otc, in chicago the same thing @ walgreens cost me over 5buks, but in the burbs they 2.54. but you can not but any thing but insulin 1cc, any bigger would need a doctor to rx it, stupid huh, tried many times to get 3cc but they say do you have a doctors script only the BD or generic wallgreens 1cc is the best bet hear in chicago w/no problems out west you will find singles for 50cents each, but thats just for the pple who need it asap & dont have the rest of that money. Or u just go to the local needle exchange bring one in and they give u 2 for 1, so i would bring about 50 and get 100, they ask if u want short or long, then they give u clean tins as many s u want, filters,water nad bleach and a ampule of narcan if u ask, so the needle exchange sets u up, but they at a different location monday-friday in one of those vans and they say if the police stop u outside run back in to the van b/c they give u a card which says u are in a needle exchange study and if u catch a case the exchange will put up an attorney for you b/c you are in their study,:cool:

Here in Ontario Canada most Shoppers Drug Marts have free needle exchange.They give you everything even the sterile water......Dave

I been using 31g 1/2cc with the long tips but they haven't been working out too well... next time I'll go back to 29g, even though they seem to hurt a little bit more.

Here in NY you can buy rigs @ any pharmacy, no questions asked, ever.

I get the full CC, 31g. I prefer long needle but a female friend of mine recently got a box of 100 1cc, 31g, short needle darts for $12.50 at Wal-Mart... can't beat that
