I have heard that grapefruit juice and other enzyme inhibitors that usually are known to potentiate some opioids might actually not potentiate codeine. I use a substance called picrorhiza kurroa root, an ayurvedic herb, it seems to potentiate some opiates. I get dysphoric effects when consuming the herb for more than 2 days. there are articles about 50 micrograms or so of naloxone or naltrexone actually potentiating some opiates. there are more potentiating pharmaceuticals out there and plenty of info on the subject lately. cats claw herb is known to potentiate methadone and buprenorphine, it seems to potentiate tramadol and poppy seeds I have noticed. (cats claw shares some chemistry with kratom actually, and has other compounds that are very similiar to some alkaloids found in kratom...............................chocolate in 1 cup doses taken with more opiates than you might normally dose with has left me very dysphoric and sick...and loaded. I have had some experiences with combining pure chocolate with opiates that left me barely able to ride a bike, and created a strong analgesia in my limbs. chocolate is complex in its actions, its hard to say what if anything is interacting to potentiate opioids. I have seen data that suggest some opioid antagonists may mediate some of the effects of the chocolate high or craving for chocolate. if THC has some effects upon the kappa receptors perhaps anandamide (chocolate contains this cannabanoid that is also a component of human physiology) has some effects upon opioid receptors? .........................There is a good article by K trout that discusses opioid potentiation and other opio issues on the internet.
