Qualudes- I was born too late

I've been wondering about Qualudes (sp?). I'm sure some of the older people on here had a chance to check 'em out. I've looked up some stuff about them, but there's not much good solid info out there.

Here's what I was wondering- what do they feel like? Are they snorted/swallowed/shot? How long has it been since anyone has seen 'em around?

I've seen in the DEA microgram that people were making fake qualudes with the "lemmon 714" stamp on 'em that had diazapam as the active.

So, are they available anywhere in the world still? What's the most recently someone has seen 'em?

I wish I could get my hands on a few of these things.

Are you sure that wasn't peyote buttons or psychadelic cactuses? That's the only thing I could see someone cutting slices off of. Qualudes are pills, just like any other pill, they fare well at room temp.

I'm 38 and I've tried seconal which I think is a lude.Also when I first started turning on there was a lot of mandrax around.Used to smoke mandrax tastes like tyres burning,but sure screws you up.

*I* remember'em. I think they were designed as *sleeping pills* if I remember right. "Rorher" or somebody like that made'em... Were also know by numbers: 714's were big ones, 712's were the smaller. Also "sopors" were the other ones. Girls liked'em, college kids liked'em...I used to hit drugstores, and we'ed sell'em, buy heroin. Never did nothing for me but what they were supposed to do, put me to sleep.

I have this one movie about a dead model called "Gia Unratted" and her modeling agent is telling her to take one of those, and she called them yellows and blacks. That was supposed to have taken place in the late 70's though. I personally like barbituates. I've only had Fioricet / Fiorinol and the shitty time-released phenobarbitol in detox, but they seemed like they could be fun. The shorter acting ones I mean.

Ludes were made a schedule I drug in the US some time ago, but methlyqualine is still phamaceutically manufactured in other countries throughout the world. I am pretty sure that Canada is one of them.

Yup, best I remember. They were designed to be non-habit forming sleeping pills in early seventies. I think the were quickly made into Class A narcotics--the old designation, when it was BNDD doing the game, before DEA. Because people quickly liked to party on them, then u could get them, or something like them from Mexico, and imitations were all over the place...I knew a girl got busted for quaaludes, turned out they were fakes, made with valium in them, from Mexico, if I remember right.

I was laughing when I read your last post: they are doing a thing on CNN about Vietnam, you know, w/Bush's visit and shit, and showing a bunch of the old villes and stuff, even some papasans talking shit about the old days...I keep waiting for some whitebearded old vet like me, to be interviewed, all drug crazed, and tattoed and drooling, in old jungle camies, and saying he still gets vials of skag over there...I'd be on first flight. Quaaludes are still imported into the good ol' US of A, albeit in smaller quantities and with more discretion. Just as a sort of funny story, an older well off relative of mine (think Mrs Robinson) recently confided in me that if Quaaludes were still available, she'd have a "problem" I personally never got anything out of Quaaludes that I didn't get out of GHB, but I guess that's just me.

T, ya definatley missed the boat. I think , no I'm positive qualudes were the first drug i absolutely fell in love with, took em from age 15 till about 20 when they were pulled from the market. In fact I worked as a pharm tech for a year and used to grab handfulls outta the bottle.

Just freaking felt sooo good and don't know about any other of the women out there , but they made me horny as hell.

Back when I lived in Athens, GA there were a group of gay young men who lived off of Prince Ave- and fucking shit, I forget(cause they still fucking live there)- and they had some fine parties. I got to try Quaaludes (I think that's the correct spelling) a few times back in high-school (yes, I'm an old fuck, graduated in '82), and then they were gone forever. They were largish pills with a '714' on 'em, but I recall them having the word 'Roche' on 'em or something like that....but then again, my memory is pretty hazy from those days.

I remember them making me feel like I'd drunk a case of beer all at once...

Although they're sched I in the US, they certainly still exist. Methylqualone is considered sched II internationally.

I graduated in 1982 too WOOHOO! LOL We had some good times back then brother. I mean yeah I feel old for 42 but I can still party with the best of them and yeah I did a shitload of Qualudes in high school. Basically what they were was a downer drug that made you feel drunk and great without the hangover of alcohol. The only problem was you could get so freakin wasted on them that you would passed out or wreck your car. I took some one night at a friend's house who lived only down the street from me and I had a few shot's and took 2 or 3 of them and the next thing I know I was pulling my car out of parents garage door. Man needless to say my parents we pissed off at me. I hardly remembered a thing but our garage door was toast. Oh yeah also chicks loved them too because they would get horny on them and do the nasty very easliy. They is why we supplyed allot of them at party's to them. ;)
