o-demethylation of codeine without using pyridine?

Can anyone help me? I am unable to obtain any pyridine. Is there any other ways to convert codeine to morphine? Or am I gonna have to obtain morphine? Also can codeine be converted into oxycodone easily?, if so how would one go about it Theoretically of cause! Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I dont know how long my liver can handle paracetamol(acetominophen) abuse, I just want the safe drugs, not POISONOUS paracetamol.:D :p :cool: :o :( :sickinbed :hanged:

Why dont you just extract the paracetamol? pyridine you get in chem stores, i think its not watched as much as acetanhydride

Cheers for the advice, I extract the codeine most of the time these days but half the time the tab/caps etc are swallowed before I get home, thats partly why I am a junky. Anyway does anybody know of a source of pyridine in Australia. My freind made some calls yesterday and discovered that a special licence from the Health Dept. of my freinds state was required as it is carcinogenic apparently(like benzene). Strangely my friend can aquire plenty of acetic anhydride +/or glacial acetic acid. Whats better(easier) ac acid or acetic anhydride? The other chems my friend needs are DCM or chloroform, where would he/she obtain these. What are good reasons to obtain pyridine,+/or chloroform/DCM. :(
