Just wondering if anyone shares my love of these two new fine shows.
Dexter: this one's on Showtime, so if you ain't got it, you ain't watchin' this show (but IMO, it alone is worth getting Showtime for). It stars Michael Hall (the gay brother from "Six Feet Under") as a serial-killer who also happens to work for the police forensics department and specializes in blood. I find this show riveting and can't wait for each new episode. Oh, and he subdues his victims with Etorphine, then wraps 'em up with saran wrap and saws 'em apart alive. Good stuff.
Dethklok: Metalocalypse: The new animated thing on Adult Swim about a half-Scandinavian, half-American black/death metal band that are so rich and successful that they are the world's 12th largest economy. Their fans must sign death-waivers before each concert and in one episode they summoned a giant lake-troll in Finland by accident. Each episode is only 11 minutes long and is on late Sunday nites. It is, IMO, just fuckin' incredible. Love it.

My sister gets all of those movie channels and was telling me about Dexter a few weekends ago. He's a detective who chases serial-killers but he's a serial-killer, right? She said it's a great show, and that I should watch it because I'd love it. I don't get Showtime, though. So. I find the etorphine interesting though. She didn't tell me about that part (non-opiate individual). I wonder how much he gives them if they're still alive. That's some pretty potent shit. What would a dose be, in nanograms for something like that? God, Sex in the City came on on TBS. Carry is such a whore. Gotta love it.

Metatocalypse is a killer toon.
King Diamond and Hetfield and Hammett
have made voice cameos.
The lead singer,Nathan Explosion
reminds me of Peter Steele from Type O Negative.
I also love 12 Ounce Mouse ;)

I also love 12 Ounce Mouse ;)
I just don't get that one, 12 oz mouse; that or Squidbillies... I just don't see what's funny about it. Maybe I'm getting too old or something. I just started watching Dethklok recently though and that show is pretty good. It's on Sundays right? I never know when to catch it. I haven't even heard of that Dexter show yet (I'm an HBO man) sounds pretty kick ass though... I always thought that guy would make a good serial killer. I wonder if they have any clips of the show on youtube? If it's that good it might be worth getting Showtime, eh.

It's an acquired taste.
I just like his attitude
and the story line
has gotten real intense.
There's a mystery
going on and I'm waiting for the climax.

Yeah, Chem as I said above, all the Dethklok episodes are on Youtube....maybe Dexter is too. Or maybe you can find it on a Torrent or something. It'd be well worth it...

Metalocalypse is awesome. The episodes seem to either be incredibly funny or pretty lame (like this last one about the blues guy). Here's a list of my favorite AS shows (in order):
The Venture Brothers (which may be the best cartoon ever created)
Squidbillies
Metalocalypse*
Stroker & Hoop
*Metalocalypse is below Squidbillies only because there's been a few shitty episodes, while Squidbillies is always funny (not counting the original episode that was just the line drawings).
Oh, and in addition to getting Metalocalypse episodes on YouTube, you can watch new ones (even before they air on TV) on the Adult Swim Fix (on the AS website). I don't know if it's still up or not, but for a while they had all the episodes of Venture Brothers on there.

Oh, man, "Snakes and Barrels", that's one of my faves. I also love the "Happy Deth-day" episode (with the rock-n-roll clown "who does c-c-cocaine"), and my alltime fave episode, "Awaken Mustakrakish", the lake-troll summoning episode...
Their Myspace page has some songs, with newer songs rotating in every few weeks, that you can download. I have 9 so far. Plus the Adult Swim Metalocalipyse page has tons of interviews and whatnot, including a guitar lesson from Brandon, the show's creator.
Oh, and Madnesscult is correct, you can view the weeks' episode a day before it airs on the Adult Swim Fix area of their site. And I found an hour long video pod-cast interview with Brandon and Jon Shnepp (another main guy from the show) that was pretty good. But I have to disagree with Madness---I feel there are no bad episodes of Dethklok. Some are more brutal than others, but they all rule. Heh, sorry. All will be made metal!!

DEXTER is freaking awesome. I saw the full-length preview pilot online and really got into it. It's not for the faint of heart but it's an excellent show

What's Dexter about, anyway?
"Everybody's Favorite Serial Killer."
It's hard to explain, it's a very interesting and unique, complex plot. The short version is that Dexter is an adopted son of a cop, who recognized his latent serial-killer traits as a product of his mysterious pre-adoption past, helped shape him into a "good" serial killer who only preyed on bad guys. Other killers, bad people, especially those who the law was not going to be able to effectively punish.
An amazing show. You can get it on Showtime, or on the Torrent/p2p networks.
Possibly also on iTunes!
