WAY, WAY too much Temazepam.

One night I was on a really good DXM trip, and so I grab my bottle of Temazepam because those bastards will really add some strange euphoria to a DXM trip. Impossible to describe in words. Anyways, the next thing I noticed was that something was different about whatever it is I’m engaged in doing. I focus on what I am doing. The difference is that the bottle of Temazepam that I had just filled, was completely empty!!!! As in, I just downed the whole bottle. These were either 15mg, or 30mg caps. I don't recall. I pause for a second figuring out what this means ..... then it hits me what I've just done. I panic, seriously panic. I manage to call a friend makes it to my place and somehow finds his way in. He recites to me what I already know, that I'm not going to die. I feel a little better having someone there. My friend stays the rest of the night to watch me and wakes me the next day from my sleep by slapping the shit out of me. My friend forces me to drink as much gatoraid as I can possibly stomach for the rest of the day (this is now Sunday, I ingested the pills around 11:00 pm Sat.)



Around rolls Monday morning, no wait ,,, it was Tueday. The same friend called my work and pretended to be me, saying he was sick on Monday. So, Tuesday rolls around 3:30 in the morning and off to work I go. A coworker realizes how fucked up I am, and pulls me aside. He explains that I just asked him the same question for the second or third time that mornign in a 30 min period and that for the rest of the day I should keep my mouth shut. I did just that.



I don’t remember anything from that week. I only remember most of what I have written because my friend relayed it to me. I don’t blame anyone who doesn’t believe this story, I wouldn’t have believed it had it not happened to me. The dose I took was twice, to four times the dose a friend of mine took when she attempted suicide (Just glad she attempted with benzo’s and not Tylenol). She tells me that she was in unbelievable pain for a week after ingesting the Temazepam. Most people I imagine would have become extremely ill from taking this amount of benzos, I however did not. Maybe it’s something to do with me, maybe it’s my astronomical tolerance to benzo’s … probably both. But aside from being a walking zombie for a solid week, I experienced no negative physical side effects (that I can recall).



Moral of the story? Had these not been benzo’s, but instead OC, I could easily be dead. I’m lucky I was even able to use a telephone in that state of mind. Don’t ever mix / dose on any med when you’re high as a kite. You may never wake up. I know we all think that we’d never make such a stupid mistake, but apparently if you’re fucked up enough that you have no idea what you’re doing, it happens. I now lock ALL of my medication, tylenol included, in my safe before I push off.

You're right, better be glad they were benzos and not anything else. The lethal dose for a benzo is so high that you would have to take bottles upon bottles of pills to even come close to kill yourself. You do however get the black out feeling and zombified, but it's better than being dead. Glad to hear you're still here.

I had a buddy who drank windex accidentally (i think it was windex, maybe some other kind of cleaner) when he was drunk and the next time he took a shit it was NEON GREEN! I'm being totally serious here because i actually saw this shit in the toilet (gross i know) and we took a polaroid picture of it!

A friend of mine, who definitely knew better, took 10mg of xanax one night (he usually gets very nice off 1-2mg) and he was fuuuuuuuucked up. Falling down. Sleeping for 4 days. Walking around the neighborhood naked. Shitting himself, both in his sleep (in a friend's bed) and while awake (in his drawers).

Needless to say, the guy who's bed got shitted in is no longer a friend. dV, I know you're not this much of an idiot to do things like my friend did, but be safe- this shit erases your brain, and you go back to being like a very tired chimpanzee at high enough doses. Funny stuff.

Well the refill was for 30, I'd guess there were around 20ish plus. In regards to the benzos, I was scripted them for so many years that they’re now useless to me. I never take them. I never really overdid it with benzos though, maybe 2 or 3 when coming down from a trip. I only ever had problems with benzo’s twice. The first time I wrecked my car. The second time resulted in this experience…. Well and there was a third incident that snapped the rear suspension on my dirtbike, but that’s not really an interesting story. I realized after the dirtbike incident that benzo’s are the most dangerous drug I’ve ever used. You never really realize how fucked up you are on them until you do something stupid like rear end some guys truck. And I know I’m not the only one on this site to rear end someone while on benzos.

The DXM though, was a BIG fucking problem. Thank the lord I stopped using that, and now the magic is gone. I’ve used DXM a few times since I kicked the habbit, and it just resulted in my being rather sick.

I guess I’m just a lucky bastard. I graduated with a very high gpa, and I was pretty much fucked up all the time. My brain works a-ok. I’ve actually taken tests to check my cognitive misc etc crap. Everything workin great. But you never really know, not something you should really leave to chance.

For anyone wondering why I didn't just induce vomiting, I tried .. it did not work at all. I've had to induce vomiting one other time when I realized that I had taken WAY too much. Well with opies it becomes rather impossible to induce vomiting. You only ever vomit when you don't want to. So my solution was to drink as much water as I could stand, till it was literally painful and I puked like you wouldn't believe. I can fit around 3 liters of water in my stomach. I repeated this procedure 3 more times, got out my goodbye letters, sat and waited for death. I wasn't willing to go to the hospital yet again, I would rather have just died than live through another hospital visit. Well, we all know how that ended, I'm still here. A little wiser now-days, but still a fool. Kids, don’t ever do anything I’ve done, unless you want to be a complete jackass like me. I’m an embarrassment even to hardcore druggies. And no, this is not a sympathy plea whinny bitchy thing. I’m being serious. Responsibility goes hand in had with drug use.

I'd have to agree. And whats with that post about disociatvies + hypnotics (are benzos even hypnotics? I'm a pharmacology major and didn't even know that). I've done DXM and benzos plenty of times when I've had no opies to do with Dex (DXM and opies is my favorite combo, add a lil 2cI and I'm on top of the world).

Also, anyone have information on a class of drugs called benzothiazepines?

i hit two parked cars while on tramadol and lorazapam, for some reason tramadol makes me black out on benzos. last weekend i flew from santa barbara to charleston, nc. the flight attendent comes up and says the captain has asked for me to be removed from the plane before we depart. says i'm intoxicated i dont remember anything else. no idea why! tramadol and xanax fuck that! blackout

Yeah, that sounds quite scarey. I didn't notice that with temazapam and DXM that my respiration slowed down any, but lucky for me I had my buddy there to watch over me and make sure I was breathing ok and all that. Good advise though not to be mixing benzos and ... well pretty much anything. They're dangerous enough by themselves.
