I wanted to provide a few places for those in the Los Angeles and surrounding areas where one could go for minor medical conditions when the ER is not needed. This meaning a non-emergency medical issue. If you feel your problem may be an emergency, please always call 911 or go to the nearest Medical Center/Hospital.

This came about after reading a post from Madnesscult and his friend not knowing where to go and being a bit freaked out about going into the ER. There are places to go in the L.A. area.

Clean Needles Now- CNN (323) 857-5846
(323)857-5366-- Recorded list of Needle Exchange sites
CNN
-Primary Medical Care
-HIV/HCV Testing
-Legal Assistance

AltaMed Health Services: www.altamed.org (http://www.altamed.org)
-Have 7 clinics in the L.A. area that provide care at low cost and have services to meet the needs of all individuals. They provide care to those with HIV and to IDU's(injection drug users).
I don't have the time to list all the clinics, but go to their site and you should be able to find a site near you or call and get some info.

Common Ground-(310)314-5480 ext.11
-Venice , Needle Exchange Program is best to go to get info on referrels for medical care.
Their exchange sites: Monday: 5:15pm -7:15pm, Friday: 5:00pm - 6:00pm
Located at: The alley behid Abbot Kinney on the North side of Venice Blvd. (You can't miss them)
Fridays: 1:00pm -2:20pm
Located at: 717 Lincoln Blvd. in Venice
- Call them if you have any other questions. They are really super nice and helpful to all IDU's regardless.

This is just a few and I wish I could list more sites for healthcare right now, but I am running around doing other work and getting way behind. When I have a bit more time, I will list more sites. But, call anyone of these and they should be able to help or refer you to a place or someone who can address your needs. I promise that much!

Just please don't forget that there are people out there who do care and I wish I could reach the world. but right now between kids and work, I can only reach out through the internet and give you some info for this area of the state of CA. Maybe someday soon when I have a whole lot of time, I can update a list that will serve everyone! For now, just you folks around my town.

But, I am great at making calls and bugging the shit out of others, so if you need some info in your state or area where you are, please let me know and I will see what I can do!

Until then, everyone be well and have a great night or day, wherever you are in the world!

Thanks for the info, Candy! I'm sure it's much appreciated by the folks in the LA area. I'm lucky enough to have adequate ins and we have several minor med facilities where I am, so I don't have to worry about going to the E.R.

Candy great info. Seeing as you are only one person , I too am great at making calls and bugging the shit out of others, so if I can help anyone find any info I would be glad to jump in.

Also have ascess to good PM clinics in all 50 states if anyone is interested. For PM clinics, please make sure you have records to document your CP condition or you won't be able to get in the door. Also let me know if you have insurance or not and how far you are willing to travel.
