Chucky, speaking of literature, I think there is also a classic called Smack but I can't think of the author, and I would add to a list of "must reads" Jim Hogshires Pills A Go-Go and his controversial classic that answers many FAQs in this forum, Opium for the Masses. Also, there is a small book, the entire text of which can be found somewhere on www.erowid.org (http://www.erowid.org/) so no one has to shell out any cash for it, called Legal Highs by Adam Gottlieb. Also, www.poppies.org (http://www.poppies.org/) also has a nice booklist of what I would consider required reading for all opiophiles.
Another good place to find some interesting books is www.loompanics.com (http://www.loompanics.com/), of course, I suggest the books on drugs rather than some of the other hard to find topics, but if you wonder if anyone ever wrote a book on "how to" do something you shouldn't do, you can probably find it on the loompanics site.
