Bukowski said he was glad he'd seen it thru...but that life was pretty hard to take, straight. He said he understood why people got religion or drank, but he did see it thru. All of getting older just seems to be loss, at times. Its unfortunate that the most lasting true thing I met was heroin, and I'm glad I didn't learn that right away...some things I wish I'd never learned at all...One of Johnny Cash's songs was:

There ain't no good in an evil-hearted woman
And I ain't cut out to be no Jesse James
You don't go writin' hot checks
Down in Mississippi
And there ain't no good chain gangs...

Unfortunate branding is in the eye of the beholder. Alas, disagreeing with the above statement? The many who can agree...Are fools. Fools who do not understand the animals divine power. Foolishness, is the acme of stupidity to many. Something Ive heard quite a bit with the old timers I enjoyed to frequent. To me, life is based on the experiences you assertain in your journey. An opiate based chemical that which anyone can look back on and admit they frequent? I must humblely divuldge to anyone that it is something I wish I never had the pleasure to partake in, nonetheless learned of in the first place.

Shit I double fucked up: I sent for a CD of The Mavericks w/Carmelita w/Flaco and Dwight...but that ain't what I got...I fucked up and ordered a *DVD* so it's some movie of the Mavericks playing in Austin but worse it doesn't seem to have that song w/Flaco and Dwight...and worse than that, I got so excited taking it out that I broke the damn thing anyway...

Man I"m a retard...anyway, I got to find the *CD* of Flaco and *anybody* doing Carmelita...I'm going back to Amazon online right now...

Saw the most beautiful girl this morning at the methadone clinic--stone beautiful and I know her...got me depressed...she treats me like grandpa, (naturally, I'm an old fuck)...and it wasn't always like that for me, women used to fight over me in front of bars when I was tuff and young and handsome and now i'm none of the three...shit...nevermind...the nurse was bitching us out at the clinic since seemed like about fifty of us crawled out of the sack five minutes before they closed..hahaha....

I'm off to find Carmelita...listening right now to Marty Robbins Gunfighter Ballads...disregard oldman ranting in the morning...means nothing...thanks for tip on Carmelita!

--duckfeet sat moaning bluez

brings The Wizard to mind..

Misty morning, clouds in the sky
Without warning, the wizard walks by
Casting his shadow, weaving his spell
Funny clothes, tinkling bell

Never talking
Just keeps walking
spreading his magic

Evil power disappears
Demons worry when the wizard is near
He turns tears into joy
Everyone's happy when the wizard walks by

Never talking
Just keeps walking
spreading his magic

Sun is shining, clouds have gone by
All the people give a happy sigh
He has passed by, giving his sign
Left all the people feeling so fine

Never talking
Just keeps walking
spreading his magic

Is that the song
you're talking about?

I saw Waits live on a riverboat, took off at the end of Canal Street, in New Orleans, years ago. I was drunk, and had been shooting up dilaudids. He was great, then we went and partied in the Ninth Ward all night. These bars u had to knock on the door, then they'd look out a little window, then let u in.

It was my old lady's 18th birthday...
Good old days :-)

"Shorty's high on China White
Bony found a punk
Don't you know there ain't no devil
There's just God when he's drunk.

This stuff'll probably kill you
Let's do another line
You can see a million of'em
On Heartattack and Vine..."

Yeah, I loved New Orleans--who doesn't?--and remember going to the "Dream Palace," I think it was. I had these two pals who worked with me out in Morgan City, and they were both tough boys from the Ninth Ward, and proud of it, and I would always say I was from there too, u know how they used to say "The Nint Wahd" and talked like they were from Jersey? I used to love those people down there, and lost touch with most of'em, so I had no one to call when Katrina wiped it out...so sad...I have so many memories locked up in New Orleans, from seeing Tom Waits, to just plain drinking with pals cuz I never knew a better town to drink in...and we were always taking off from Morgan City and heading to New Orleans, and it just breaks my old heart, as I was young and had a lot of things happen the many years I lived down that way. I paroled to Louisiana from Chino and me and my young wife went out there so full of hope, and we did so well for so long...but eventually same thing always happens...happened, and drugs and shit. and another bust and wife long gone......oh well...

yerp drum n bass, pendulum are local boyz, perth is the new seattle our isolation is breeding some wikkid sounds atm. if ur into d'n'b check out their album 'hold your colour' and their essential mix from bbc radio which is still widely available as mp3. if you got a nice system with subs or at least some bass capable speakers get the essential mix, crank as loud as possible, take ur DOC and the lean back n relax.

my fav tracks from pendulum are "slam" "tarantula" "blood sugar" "the terminal" and "fasten your seatbelts" nice funky electro sounds to chill to.

of course noone beats the prodigy the chemical brothers or the aphex twin as far as electro is concerned. they might be big names but that dont mean they dont kick some serious arse.

Tool "Sober"

Theres a shadow just behind me. shrouding every step I take.
Making every promise empty. pointing every finger at me.
Waiting like a stalking butler, who upon the finger rests.
Murder now the path of must we, just because the son has come.

Jesus, wont you fucking whistle. something but the past and done.

Why cant we not be sober? I just want to start this over.
Why cant we drink forever? I just want to start this over.

I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you. trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave.
I will work to elevate you, just enough to bring you down.

Mother mary, wont you whisper. something but the past is done.

Why cant we not be sober? I just want to start this over.
Why cant we sleep forever? I just want to start this over.

I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you. trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave.
Trust me. trust me. trust me. trust me. trust me.

Why cant we not be sober. I just want to start things over.
Why cant we sleep forever. I just want to start this over.

When I woke up this morning, things were lookin' bad
Seem like total silence was the only friend I had
Bowl of oatmeal tried to stare me down... and won
And it was twelve o'clock before I realized
That I was havin' .. no fun

But fortunately I have the key to escape reality
And you may see me tonight with an illegal smile
It don't cost very much, but it lasts a long while
Won't you please tell the man I didn't kill anyone
No I'm just tryin' to have me some fun

Last time I checked my bankroll,
It was gettin' thin
Sometimes it seems like the bottom
Is the only place I've been
I Chased a rainbow down a one-way street... dead end
And all my friends turned out to be insurance salesmen

Well, I sat down in my closet with all my overalls
Tryin' to get away
From all the ears inside my walls
I dreamed the police heard
Everything I thought... what then?
Well I went to court
And the judge's name was Hoffman

Ah but fortunately I have the key to escape reality
And you may see me tonight with an illegal smile
It don't cost very much, but it lasts a long while
Won't you please tell the man I didn't kill anyone
No I'm just tryin' to have me some fun
Well done, hot dog bun, my sister's a nun

Life's Been Good
Joe Walsh

I have a mansion, forget the price
Ain't never been there, they tell me it's nice
I live in hotels, tear out the walls
I have accountants pay for it all

They say I'm crazy but I have a good time
I'm just looking for clues at the scene of the crime
Life's been good to me so far

My Maserati does one-eighty-five
I lost my license, now I don't drive
I have a limo, ride in the back
I lock the doors in case I'm attacked

I make hit records, my fans they can't wait
They write me letters, tell me I'm great
So I got me an office, gold records on the wall
Just leave a message, maybe I'll call

Lucky I'm sane after all I've been through
(Everybody say “I'm cool”......”He's cool”)
I can't complain but sometimes I still do
Life's been good to me so far

I go to parties, sometimes until four
It's hard to leave when you can't find the door
It's tough to handle this fortune and fame
Everybody's so different, I haven't changed

They say I'm lazy but it takes all my time
(Everybody say “Oh, yeah”..... “Oh, yeah”)
I keep on goin’ guess I'll never know why
Life's been good to me so far

Yeah, yeah, yeah

I'm having a drink here trying to wallow in my trouble's
you come around my drink's they turn to double's
You say you love at least fifty time's a day
but if you really loved me there's nothing to say
leave me to be here by my little old lonesome
I need the company of no one
just pack your thing's close the door behind you
cause if you really loved me you'd just go away
go away clean the dirt behind you I'll be alright here
just leave me alone I don't need you dear you try my patience
cause if you really loved me you'd just go away
remember when you lit the house on fire
no friend of mine throw's out my boot's with the trash
I need you babe like a pig need's slaughter
cause if you really loved me you'd just go away
I'm singing this song so you understand me
I need the company of no one just who gave you the right to scream in my ear
pack your garbage get on out of here

Backside melts into the sofa
My world, my TV, and my food
Besides listening to my belly gurgle
Ain't much else to do
Yeah, I sweat a lot
Pants fall down every time I bend over
And my feet itch
Yeah - I married a scarecrow
I hate you
Talkin' to myself
Everybody's starin' at me
I'm only bleedin'
Someone taps me on the shoulder every 5 minutes
Nobody speaks English anymore
Would anyone tell me if I was gettin' stupider?
I hate you
Talkin' to myself
You don't feel it after awhile
You take the beating
I'm a swingin' guy
Throw a belt over the shower curtain rod
And swing - - -
Toss me inside a hefty
And put me in the ground
A drink needs me
I don't
I ain't about to guzzle no tears
So kiss my ass
Newscasters, cockroaches, and desserts
I hate you

Just downloaded (legally, of course) and listened to the new Arch Enemy disc "Rise of the Tyrants". Crushing stuff, and that Angela Gossow chick can sure give all the death-metal screamos a run for their money. Musically, it's technical, melodic, well-structured, and heavy as fuck. Rapidly becoming one of my fav bands in that genre. Check it out!

Well, I hope it's TKK's "Confessions of a Knife" that you're enjoying---IMO the best thing they ever did...

And I'd be happy to enter a shred-off with anyone here, anytime, anyplace....:p

Yeah, been playing for almost 25 years now, studied all that neo-classical theory, jazz, bla, bla, bla.....

But the thing is, I think that "feeling", or emotion, or whatever you wanna call it is the most important thing---if you can't feel the groove, or write a good song, no matter what kind of music yer playing, then what's the point? I know lots of guys (and you'll find one at every music store, usually) who can play a zillion notes a minute but can't write a catchy riff to save their life. I've always felt that you can say as much with one note as twenty.....

I lurk a lot, of late, brother, but I am here. Just got a lot of shit going on. Gotta see a neurosurgeon next week (scared shitless). As far as rush albums, I have more rush on my zune than anything else. Great choices btw. Since the last post, I've moved on to some Abe Reid. Probably a name most wouldnt know, but Link and I were on the clinic with the dude many moons back. I just realized I'm not making much sense, have to work on that. Anyway, the bottom part of my sig is a quote from one of the tracks off his album Basicly Dumb. Track is called "queen medicine."

I'll shut up now, till I finally manage to get some pills in me. I'll try to post something profound later, k?

I think he's a commercial pilot now, flying Boeing 757's (or something in that nature).#
In fact i have seen him present a program on Discovery 'Wings' where he tests out all these different airplanes.
Peculiar enough.
But to be honest i have never really been into Iron Maiden at all.
