Demerol Bioavailability

So, i've been looking around the "internets" and "the google" (thanks bush!) for information on demerol's bioavailability and it seems oral ROA is hovering around 40 - 50 %. I was wondering if anyone knows of another ROA that would increase the BA of demerol.

In other words, oral demerol is weak. And i'm looking for a way to take it which will make it stronger. I'm particularly interested in whether demerol can be stronger when taken intranasally or sublingually. (i won't/don't shoot anything, and haven't browned anything either(but i may consider browning))

so if anyone has experience with meperidine, please speak the up...

You know I've never read much about anyone doing anything with demerol other than im or po. You'll definitely increase it rectally. If oral is that low, nasal isn't going to increase it a ton. If ya don't want a needle, the best bet would be rectally. You may get an additional 10% or so nasally, but it wouldn't be very significant. Just watch the dose with that stuff!

ive had demerol countless times thru oral (up to 300mg), IV, and IM (up to 200mg)....its a good drug but has a toxit mjotabolite if u take too much of it. after my tolorance went up, i had to take like 3 100mg pills to even acheiev any analgesic effect or buzz at all....but it was nice! i get chronic migraines so i always got demerol & phenergran before they started using dilaudid on me. in my opinion browning may be ur best bet!

Demerol is pretty week when taken orally. For better effects, try IV or IM. If you're going to take it orally, I'd suggest something moderate, maybe 150mg. Of course I don't know what your tolerance is like. One of those sites with opiate equivalencies might help. Just find your normal dose in terms of your DOC, and then compare to the ratio of demerol.

Edit: The 150mg suggestion was for PO. Don't shoot 150 if you've not done that before. Also, I've never tried, but I assume you could take demerol nasally. I'm not sure if you'd get any better effects than with PO though.

thanks for the input, though i guess i already knew most of what was said here... i guess if no one really knows about sublingal and nasal, it's probably nothing to write home about.

however, if anyone has ever tried sublingal demerol, please post!
