I started a thread about this amino acid that produces a noticeable calm energy rush with no jangly cofee/speed problems nor jaw tightewning/sleeplessness. You can buy it at natural food stores here is more info:
Dimethlyaminoethanol bitartatre One capsule ((100mg) in morning ,one at night
I recommend two immediately for a real deal energy splash. Might be helpful for WD low energy slumps. You can buy online from a Vitamin place.
"DMAE is a substance that is known to stabalize cell mebranes. (Arch Gerontol Geriiatric 1989 Nov-Dec;9 (3);215-29) (Exp Gerontology 1984;19(3):171-8
DMAE is a precursor to choline and acetylcholine. It is the choline inside cells that is converted to phosphatidylcholine, used in building and repair of cell membranes, especially in the brain GET DOWN , junkies
And if you have fried your liver, like me, having too much opi fun with no patience for CWE, I recommend:
SAMe-S-adenosyl-methionine is an amino acid derivative normally synthesized in the body SAMe is used for methylation, synthesis of polyamines and Trans-sulfuration(synthesis of cysteine, glutathione and other sulfate chemicals

Infobox disclaimer and references (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Chemical_infobox) Dimethylaminoethanol, also known as DMAE or dimethylethanolamine, is an organic compound (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organic_compound). This compound also goes by the names of N,N-dimethyl-2-aminoethanol, beta-dimethylaminoethyl alcohol, beta-hydroxyethyldimethylamine and Deanol. It is a liquid with a color that ranges from clear to pale yellow.
Dimethylaminoethanol is used as a curing agent (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Curing_agent&action=edit) for polyurethanes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyurethane) and epoxy resins (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epoxy_resins). It is used to the synthesis of dyestuffs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dye), textile auxiliaries, pharmaceuticals (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pharmaceutical), emulsifiers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emulsifier), and corrosion inhibitors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrosion_inhibitor). Also it is an additive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Additive) to paint (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paint) removers, boiler (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boiler) water, and amino (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amino) resins (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resin).
Dimethylaminoethanol is related to choline (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choline) and is a biochemical precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acetylcholine), and found naturally in fishes like sardines and anchovies. It is reported to have nootropic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nootropic) effects, although research on this chemical has found both positive and negative potential results.
It is believed that dimethylaminoethanol is methylated (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methyl) to produce choline in the brain. It is known that dimethylaminoethanol is processed by the liver (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liver) into choline; however, the choline molecule is charged and cannot pass the blood-brain barrier (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood-brain_barrier).
Short term studies show an increase in vigilance and alertness, with a positive influence on mood (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mood). Long term studies are equivocal. Some showed dimethylaminoethanol to increase the lifespan of animals in which it was tested, while others indicate a possible reduction in the average life span (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Average_life_span) of quail (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quail). With the uncertainty of whether this could be extrapolated to humans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human), dimethylaminoethanol supplementation is not generally recommended. It is possible that dose is a major determining factor in the overall effects of dimethylaminoethanol - a high dose could produce the opposite effects than sought and contribute to life-shortening.

Studies
Always sceptical about anything legal, but I'll try anything once, normally more than once.So roll on DMAE.

Good info D,, i take the SAME as my liver is gone from my lupus, My rheumatologist recommended it. I have used it to combat the fatigue from my FM, never though about taking it to help get up when WD'ing, Duh!!
Bad junky,, bad junky,, slap, ouch..time to take more meds.

I used to have a bottle of DMAE. I noticed that it made me feel different but not in any powerful or quantifiable way. I wouldn't call it placebo but it wasn't double-blind so who am I to say? ymmv but I didn't find it to be a particularly useful or interesting substance. I threw it away after reading http://www.erowid.org/smarts/dmae/dmae_info1.shtml . In short what it says is that there was initially a belief that DMAE might have life extending qualities (at least for whatever animals it was tested on) but that later studies suggested the opposite was true: animals that received this chemical did not live as long as the control group.

Yeah SAMe sounds pretty useful, I been reading up on it. Do you notice any other posative effects? Seems like a good general health suppliment, good for depression. Sounds like it could be good for druggies in general to boost activities of dopamine, endorphin & seratonin receptors. I'm definately gonna get me some.

this is exactly what i read when i started taking it a couple years ago to help with the "fog" of smoking so much pot. i wasnt into opiates that much then. i stopped taking it when it didnt really help and i didnt notice any difference. of course then i read it can shorten your life.
