I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this movie, and if so, what they thought of it. The film is High Art by Lisa Cholodenko, and it features Alley Sheedy and Radha Michell. It's sort of an indie art film, as is basically about heroin use and the ups and downs of the scene. I don't know, I just really love this movie. I think the sounds / music are dreamy and sureal. The music is done by Shudder to Think, I think. The colors, the mood, everything, I just love it.


Any thoughts?

I haven't even heard of it but I worked on movie that played at the theatres for like a week, "First Love/ Last Rites" and I was fortunate enough to meet Nathan Carson, guitarist for Shudder to Think. MTV had given him a camera, and he was taking footage to show on MTV news or whatever. It seemed like he was more into coke at the time but I really don't know. He put me in his address book and I was right after Captain Beefheart!!! He never did call tho'. : )

Sympathy for the Devil great coke/stones movie. I wish I had seen High Art. Art was always stoned. The silly radge couldn't shoot heroin fast enough. We used to stuff gumballs in his beak so ,at least, he would have some norishment

Yes, i have seen this movie a few times, it's an excellent movie. I'd like to get it on DVD.

i just downloaded this movie. have to go to work now, but look forward to watching it. thanks for the recommendation. im always looking for good drugs movies to watch, or just good movies.

I think I can help with a translation for the non stoned.If I could be so presumptuous ,Dorje is talking about Art Blakey the jazz musician who had a bit of a problem with "our thing".Radge is an Edinburgh Scots expression for a jerk.I think you can put the rest together for yourselves.
P.S. In future there will be a small sur charge for translations.Operating costs you understand?

I'ts got lesbians in it too which is why i loved the movie. Ahhhh drugs and Lesbians. Incase your wondering, i am a lesbian myself, a very femme lesbian.

You'll enjoy the movie steveo... it's just a great movie all around.
