Long story short, even though I have insurance they will not cover brand duragesic, I am allergic to the adhesive in the Mylan.
Jannssen has a prescription assistance program for those who cannot afford Duragesic( usually for those with no insurance). However, Because my ins will not cover it they have generously agreed to cover my scripts.
They will ship directly to my doc and he will dispense the meds on a monthly basis.
Anyone who needs any info re: this program,() EW I think I had read a post wear u could not afford the scrip ( apologize if it was not u) let me know and I will post the contact info for the program.
Hope this helps some others out as well.
Now I can drop the lawsuit appealing the denial from insurance, jeez what a relief and it was sooo easy, now if only ascess to the script was as easy for everyone ...

Wow thats really great. I would like to hear more of this program.
For a couple reasons. One is that I have 6 or sometimes 7 meds I need monthly
but only entitled to have 5.
I am on SSI only, denied Dissability, so I fear this program may only be for
people with Medicare and/or have a SSD check/eligiblity.
BTW I am back on Duragesic- (fentanyl) and these generic brands
irratite the hell out of my skin, Red, itchy, inflamed. Does your allergic-ness
get worse than those symptoms?
my Dissability cause was lost due to not enough credits; work ?
not because Im not disabled . That blows, sure could use the extra benefits.
Anyway thanks for sharing the information. :)

If your doctor writes Brand medically necessary, you should get covered. Makes no difference if you are on disability or not. If you do not have insurance at all or ins that will not cover the brand name u should be eligible.
My allergic reaction to Mylan consisted of open ulcers under the patch and a severe rash that did not respond to steroids.
Anyway here is the info:

You want option 1 ( they have a few different types of asistance avaialble start there if u don't qualify for that one they will tell u which one you do qualify for)
then follow promts from there for Duragesic) or the other meds u need ( they also workwith a few other pharm co.'s)
Be sure to have your doctors info including fax number for them, and be sure to ask for the account number they assign you so it can be included on any correspondence.
You will need to provide proof that your insurance will not cover the brand name, if u have no insurance no prob.
If u have trouble gettign the proof of denial of coverage let me know and I'll tell u a couple of different ways to get it. Janssen only knows what u need to send them but not how to obtain it.(the denial of coverage part, of course they send the forms to your doc to get the other needed info.)
Hope they can help you too, let me know. Best of luck
I thought my meds would be delivered to the doc to be dispensed, but they told me that within 3-5 days of recieving the fax back from the doc ( stating brand nec) they would mail me a pseudo charge card that I take to the pharmacy with my script each month and they are gonna pay 100% for one full year.

Absolutely, please do get in touch with me about this! I'd be very interested. I'll probably be switching to the patches within the next three months (by January or so), and maybe going with Opana IR for breakthrough. Thanks! :-)

Also need a copy of last years Fedaral tax return, unless you don't file. Then you just chek the box for that.
Hope they can help you too, let me know. Best of luck
