LATIN AMERIACA BECOMES A PRIMARY SOURCE
May 11, 2005

Historically, opium's largest producer was in southeast asia. However in recent year's Latin America has become a primary sourse for illicit herion coming into the united states.Latin herion makes up for 24 to 60 percent of herion seized in the U.S. today.Columbia being the largest producer of the illicit drug , there influence has reached out to other countries such as Venezuela,Peru and other neighboring countries.Mexico also makes up for about 3 to 4 percent of heroin in the U.S. and all of there opium harvest are refined into herion, though the qaulity of mexican H. is far below their latin brothers to the south.Trades routes from these countries have long been set up making for easier access into the U.S.Amazingily most is smuggled in on commercial flights into N.Y or miami. The rest coming in through maritime vessels in major ports like Baltimore or Boston. The rest being carried by mules through the Mexican, American border.

chucky, drugpolicy.org is the main page. After clicking through pages for about a minutes, I found a direct link to the first story - http://www.drugpolicy.org/news/01_06_04eu.cfm.

Would you mind awfully giving us a similar link to the second story? :) (Done by copying and pasting the URL of the exact page, not just the website.)

some of the information comes from newspapers that are sent from friends in different parts of the globe, from now on I will gladly give any internet links and if it is from print will let it be known from which paper. The second story concerning the catania report was taken from The TIMES LONDON,International Herald Tribune(Paris,France edition),S.F. Chronicle, Dates for all of these are unknown due to the fact that they are clippings sent from overseas.

It might be (read: is) a good idea to get the friends to write the dates on the clippings, then. Otherwise this stuff is nothing more than hearsay...

Not trying to be a hardass, but I was trained as a journalist and even in this internet age, proper attribution of sources is important.
