My favorite is Country Club...love that shit. It has a crown on the bottle cap and on the label...got a tattoo of that exact crown on my ankle.
Mickeys is pretty smooth for malt liquor too
I used to love this stuff. Two cans and I was well on my way:

I barely ever see 211 in bottles because of that. I knew this thread would blow up with oldE, its good to see the little known ones like the one Matt posted; 10% is a good volume.

In High School, I was with "O" dog and Caine, and Gimme summa that O.E., but it's 16 some odd years later and I have never been able to drink a thing since starting a dope, now longtime maintenance, benzo habit.

Funnily enough, despite being reasonably educated, and actually very old, I've still never worked out what "malt" is. I guess I could look it up on Wikipedia but somehow that would feel like cheating.
All I know is that when I made DIY beer about a thousand years ago, I had to open a tin of really viscous, sticky, gummy syrup labelled "malt". Is it man-made, does it grow in a field. WTF is it?
Come on guys, put me out of my misery.

mickey's 64oz jugs! the last time i even saw them was at the liquor store i worked in maybe 17-18 years ago. i'll still fuck around with a mickey's rotor (22oz) every once in a while.
back in high school we'd go down to a liquor store in the city that would sell to us and we'd pick up some of the crappiest stuff ever......like boxer:

OE, but I haven't had any in a decade or more.

I'm not positive but it seems like malt is sprouted barley or some other grain thats dried or toasted and then ground.
Mickey's for sure. There used to be this "cream malt" beer around but I cannot remember the name of it. in the small town in england where i come from there used to be one of the best off licenses ever, they used to sell 3 different rough ciders, a couple different sherries, gin rum and port all out of big barrels behind the counter by the pint, if you were tall enough to see over the counter you were old enough to get served...they used to sell colt 45 in cans, a couple of outdoors round our area did and i loved it growing up, it was one of my favourite drinks, unfortunately i havent seen it anywhere in the uk for 15 years or more...shame that off license has shut as well, it was an outdoor of champions...
ps talking about getting fucked for cheap, 9.0% skol super is £1.19 for a 500ml can, 8.5% oranjeboom super is £1.09 for the same size, ive even seen that for 99p, and its a good dutch lager as well, not just loopy juice like all the other superlagers, even spec and super t's taste like dogs piss...

I remember buying a 60-unit bottle of Jack Daniel's with the label upside down from an off-license, clearly meant to be used in a bar (I bought a fake ID off the web back then, before they had to be labelled as fake ID's by law, and I kinda became the go-to guy for booze cards at school); finished it in 3 days.
Never seen anything like that behind a convenience store counter since

What do you mean b4 they had to be labeled as fake IDs by law? isn't the whole point of a fake ID so you pass off "legitimately" being older. I looked 25 when I was 15 so I didn't have a problem but if I got a fake ID it will defeat the purpose to put a sticker on it saying 'this is a fake id'

There's a technicality about fake ID's here in the UK (they're illegal in any form in the US), that as long as they're only used for 'novelty purposes' it isn't illegal to possess one (it's only illegal to use that fake ID in order to buy booze and cigarettes if you're underage and shit); so of course when teenagers such as myself found out about this, we bought them and used 'em to con lax off-licenses (just type in 'fake ID' on Google to see some examples: lol at the placeholder pics on fluxcard, it's Will Ferrell from Zoolander!).
Rather than banning the cards altogether, the UK govt. instead said they had to be clearly labelled as fake ID's, in order to stop people using them to circumvent the law.
Speaking of ID's, there is a dumb law in New Mexico with ID's. If you're under 21, your card will be vertical. If you're over 21, it will be horizontal. I guess this is to make it easier for dolts who can't read a date or something, because even if you're of age but haven't changed your goddamned ID some people will not sell you alcohol or allow you to be in a bar/casino. Just because, even though you are of legal age, your fucking ID is printed the wrong way. They'll say, "I can't take this." You can't take it? You don't have to "take" anything. Just read the fuckin' thing: I'M OF LEGAL FUCKING AGE! lol This, to me and a lot of other people, is really fucking stupid. I never had this problem as I had to change mine right away anyway, but this just attests to the stupidity of some people.

That's what I liked about my Evil Eyes, 24oz. of 10% for less than $2. Short of buying a half-pint of Importers, Dark Eyes, or Crystal Palace, I'd get the most bang for my two bucks with Evil Eye. And the taste wasn't too bad, beer with a shot or two of vodka.

thats common in the states aint it, boilermakers or whatever, sounds pretty fuckin harsh to me mate, i got to say it...another thing we use to get from the states as kids was thunderbirds (usually blue, preferably red but very occasionally green) and mad dogs 20/20s, that stuff was outrageous, the hangovers from them, 20/20s and 10/40s i think was the other one, were absolutely biblical in their intensity, never again...the shit was like electric blue or bright green, you know drinking shit that looks like that will NOT end well...i swear theres a special ingredient in t/bird as well that makes you punchy, its in cider as well...

ahh yes.....the wonderful world of bum wines. t-bird, mad dog, night train, and even boones were all acceptable drinks at one point in my teenage years. but by far my favorite was cisco. i still remember the first time i drank that stuff....i was about 16-17 at a party thinking "this is the greatest thing ever". my story changed the next morning when the hangover arrived, but of course i still drank it when i had the chance.

Mad Dog 20 20, boy did I drink a lot of that crap when I was 15-16-17. It's possible I haven't had any since but I drank enough of it during those years to last the rest of my life. Very nasty very potent stuff-terrible wine + sugar + grain alcohol is what it tastes like.

O yeah, it's always "a beer and a shot" with someone when you're at the bar. I used to drink Mad Dog as well, and in my teenage years like the rest of you. It's not hard to get down the hatch, but all that sugar is asking for a hangover. Speaking of boilermakers, I used to like to do a variation on that called Flaming Dr Pepper. You'd get a glass of beer, a shot glass with sweet&sour, amaretto, and 151. Light the top of the 151 and depth charge into the beer. Tastes surprisingly like Dr Pepper! Those are some hangover cocktails too, though. Too much shit mixed, not good.

In what song does he mention special brew? The downtown LA asians take thug life to hilarious extremes, whats even funnier is 90%+ ppl that say thug life do not even know what it really stands for from pac's mouth.
Doc Diesel --
The 'malt' you used to brew your beer was the base of the beer. That is, they take different grains that are roasted to different levels, and rinse them with hot water, and then filter out the grains and use your new 'grain tea' as the base that will be boiled with other ingredients to form beer. This imparts flavor, and more importantly the sugar that the yeast will eat and convert into alcohol and CO2. It was sludgy because for shipping purposes, they reduce down to a thick sludge. Some is even converted into a dry powder.
I think it is called malt liquor because to give it more alcohol, you have to use more grains for more sugar. However, they don't also increase the hops as you would in a normal beer, so it is primarily a malt-based liquor.
I love homebrewing :D Just bottled a batch of IPA yesterday.

ah jimmy, i think what im referring to as 'special brew' is a different animal to what youre referring to...i think the uk is the only country that gets special brew, although its actually brewed in denmark, i dont think they drink the shit...it was initially brewed for winston churchill just after the war as a 'thank you', its a 9% superlager, moreless what you call 'malt liquor' in the states, but not the same as the st. ides special brew in the states, which from what i could make out was actually malt liquor with added flavourings (fuckin hell!) not quite as strong as the uk special brew either...
one thing where the states scores over the uk is the 40oz bottle, its usually 500ml cans over here, rarely you get a pint can or a 660ml bottle, but superlager/malt liquor only comes in 500ml cans...ive only ever seen 2 beers in the uk in a 40, the main one is san miguel, which is ok but a bit fizzy and pissy, and rarely american budweiser, about which the less said the better...

OE800 is endorsed by Eazy-E, of N.W.A. fame ("O.E. 800 cause that's my brand, take it in a bottle, 40, quart or a can") but 211 (Steel Reserve for n00bs) is endorsed by The Ramones, (they did several radio jingles advertising the drink in the 79-80s period) that and coupled with its higher acl% makes 211 superior, at least in my mind

I probably drank more King Cobra than anything else though. Until I discovered cider.

Just like to send a big "FUCK YOU" to the state of Florida for limiting my bottles of malt liquor to a measly 32oz. Assholes.
Oh, and Ballantine Ale FTW. Good enough for ODB, good enough for me.

32% goddamn... When you buy it does it come with a bail bondsman's # or bail money? I could see a few of them leading to trouble, even among nuclear penguins on the south pole..
nevermind- googled it & 35euro/pounds whatever per 330ml/11oz is too rich for my blood...I guess if you can afford it, no need for the included 'bail' program, just a good atty

You'd expect a lot from a bottle of beer costing $765. What you get is 55 percent alcohol — and served in a squirrel.
According to Scottish firm BrewDog, "The End of History" is the "strongest, most expensive and most shocking beer in the world."
Just 12 bottles were made and the company has already sold out. They will be shipped out to buyers in the United States (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38376048/ns/us_news-weird_news/t/its-percent-wrapped-roadkill-worlds-most-shocking-beer/#), Canada, Italy, Denmark, Scotland and England next week.
The dead animals which were used to create the beers' unusual appearance were four squirrels, seven weasels and a hare. All were roadkill, James Watt, co-founder of BrewDog, told msnbc.com.
The name of the blond Belgian ale is taken from the title of a book by philosopher Francis Fukuyama, "The End of History and the Last Man" which the company said had been chosen to imply "this is to beer what democracy is to history."
Watt said the beer should be treated with care when drinking.
"It tastes more like a whisky and you have got to handle it in that way as opposed to the way you would handle a normal beer," he told msnbc.com.

It contains juniper berries and nettles, and its taste, Watt said, has hints of cinnamon, orange and an "American hops flavor."
He said this was the last in a series of high-strength beers that the company had produced and there were no plans to go higher.
'Degrading' to animals
The decision to wrap the bottle in a dead animal was taken to indicate how special the beer was, blending brewing, taxidermy and "art."
"We were making such a tiny amount that we wanted to do something epic," Watt told msnbc.com. "We wanted to challenge people's perceptions about how beer can be packaged; taxidermy helps open people's eyes to the fact that beer doesn't have to be made by a multi-national organization."

However the decision was described by Ross Minett, campaigns director for the U.K. charity Advocates for Animals, as "terribly out of date" and "degrading" for the animals.
"The modern approach is to celebrate the wonders of animals and respect them as individual sentient creatures," he said, according to the U.K.'s Daily Telegraph newspaper. "I'm sure this would have much greater appeal with the animal-loving public."
Asked about animal rights (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38376048/ns/us_news-weird_news/t/its-percent-wrapped-roadkill-worlds-most-shocking-beer/#) concerns, Watt said: "It was all roadkill we got from a taxidermist. They are all animals that were dead anyway. We think to use dead animals in this way is much better than for them to be left to rot on the roadside."
One of the buyer, Blake Coleman, of New York (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38376048/ns/us_news-weird_news/t/its-percent-wrapped-roadkill-worlds-most-shocking-beer/#), told msnbc.com he had bought a "stoat" — another name for a weasel — beer.
"The reason I purchased the beer was solely because it came in a taxidermic case," he said. "The humor of the packaging is what persuaded me to commit to the purchase, besides the only other taxidermic 'thing' I have is a jackalope."
"However an added bonus — major added bonus — is that it contains the world's strongest 'beer' for now. All in all, I'm a craft beer enthusiast who appreciates BrewDog's cheeky direction," he added.
"I do plan on drinking the beer, yet I have not hammered out the details. I can tell you as of right now, I plan on gathering other craft beer enthusiasts to enjoy the beer, but there is no set time frame for that to happen."
