tom waites "innocent when you dream"
The bats are in the belfry
the dew is on the moor
where are the arms that held me
and pledged her love before
and pledged her love before
Chorus
It's such a sad old feeling
the fields are soft and green
it's memories that I'm stelaing
but you're innocent when you dream
when you dream
you're innocent when you dream
running through the graveyard
we laughed my friends and I
we swore we'd be together
until the day we died
until the day we died
Repeat Chorus
I made a golden promise
that we would never part
I gave my love a locket
and then I broke her heart
and then I broke her heart
Repeat Chorus

I'll have "justify my love." weed out any necrophiliacs in the joint.
or for the real one, when I'm really dead, "Epitaph" by Badly Drawn Boy.
You were right, Badly Drawn Boy (http://youtube.com/watch?v=K1BNOzDnOLI)
That's some mighty fine music dorje!Don't forget my invite for the big day.
P.S.A little Robert Johnson would be nice,I'm very fond of "Love in Vain."

I just hooked up my itunes, finally, and threw in some old Flaco Jimenez cd I'd mislaid, and was thinking about se texas...I'd actually met, and been friendly with Freddy Fender, who was over in some lowrent AA meeting, that nice people avoided, and this was one of his pals...he was such a good motherfucker, wandering around Corpus Christi on his old Knucklehead Harley, and now of all the fucking songs, the only one I want some junkies to sing when I check out, and in memory of Freddy Fender, I'm listening to Dwight Yoakum's version of Carmelita, which is gotta be there heroin junky's anthem, if we ever had one...at least for us west coast junky's anyway....:::

"Wild Rover" preferably the Dropkick Murphy's version
"Don't Think Twice" Bob Dylan
"New York, New York" Sinatra. Played when people are leaving to mimic what it is like when a game ends at Yankee Stadium. To me, having that song played at the very end of everything would remind a whole lot of people there about me, my love for NY and my love for the Yankees.

Amazing Grace - The Unforgiven (a highly underrated 80's band)
It's an awesome instrumental version with lots of bluesy-type (but electric) guitar. My family has been informed that this is "my" song.
I don't really want a funeral, but I know my family will hold one anyway, so I might as well be prepared. My mom didn't want one either, but my dad insisted. We had a hell of a time finding songs that were appropriate and yet wouldn't make us cry too hard.
Shine on you crazy diamond........seems to crop up a lot at doper funerals.

1. They’ll never take her love from me ( hank Williams senior). Many other Hank songs because like it or not he is the king. http://youtube.com/watch?v=j0_rYXH8D_U
2. He stopped lovering her today ( George Jones).
3 Cum stains on the pillow ( LMFAo for laughs of course, heres the link if you’ve never heard this priceless piece of Americana ( hmmm never thought I’d ever use that word, always thought it was rather gay). ), give her a listen n’ thank me later, and you’ll want to!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=JC24cLsv2PA (http://youtube.com/watch?v=JC24cLsv2PA)
4. Saint- Saens - Dance Macabre ( love that song)
5. Fran Litz’s Hungarian rhapsody ( the first part of the piece where it is slow, There are few pieces of music that stir as much emotion up in me as this).
6. Ol’ Ludvig von - Fur elise ( one of the most beautiful things ever created! I would learn how to play piano for the sole purpose of this lovely piece. Also love his 9th symphony http://youtube.com/watch?v=HylGjhRF3WI (http://youtube.com/watch?v=HylGjhRF3WI) , and pastural symphony ( the pastoral makes me think about country life here in my state).
7.Friedrick chopins en’nocturne..
8. Mozarts - requim ( absolutely flawlessly eerie!). http://youtube.com/watch?v=0-zDH_ekIUg (http://youtube.com/watch?v=0-zDH_ekIUg)
0. The hall of the mountain king ( ok not the best choice for a funeral but still a decent piece, maybe for the reception…… hell who am I kidding?).
9. Dead flowers - Stones ( My favorite Rock’n roll song)).
10. SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL - THE ROLLING FUCKING STONES ( A MUST HAVE).
11. Tool- bottom, Prison sex. And the hidden track at the end of the undertow c.d. ( because all 3 are bad ass songs).
12 New York city - the statler brothers ( closely relates to some of the most important events in my life).
!3 George strait - Honkey tonk crazy ( my favorite song.
14 Don’t fear the reaper ( LMFAO), burning for you- BOC.
!5. Nirvana- Where did you sleep last night.
16. Ballad of dwight frye- alice cooper.
17 too many more to list right now.
I'll just come back after I die by haunting one of ya'all to finish my list lol. :violent2:

Yep, me too: cremation is the least burndensome on people, IMO, and I'd rather people just thought of me once in a while, than some big hooplah, where idiots try to think of something to say nice, and all that shit....
My favorite funeral, I guess, was this guy Gerald, in Louisiana, who knew he was dying, Cancer metasitisized, and he always liked the pretty girls coming to see him, and said the only thing he asked, was that we *not* sing Amazing Grace at his funeral, as he *hated* that song, and thought it was so corny and religious and all, and I visited him every day, and agreed, hated that song......
So, of course, right after they put him in the ground we all laughed and immediately kicked in singing "Amazing Grace..." LOL ... which is pretty cool...and I hooked up with his ex-wife, quite a babe, and she told me he knew I would, and she drug out a pair of old cowboy boots, and said he'd told her to give them to me, as he knew I'd be in there trying to fill his shoes...I was kind of a dog, in those days....
Big ass cowboy boots man, I was almost struck impotent ... Gerald was cool motherfucker, and the only reason I could stand AA for so long, since that's where I met him,,,,
Only thing I ask when I die, is that nobody bring any fucking cats to my funeral... ;-)
That's got a real simple earthy elegance to it man. I have never been too keen on making a big show of everything anyway which is probably why I love your idea.
